  3. hope everyone has a good day tomorrow i hope your all happy and healthy for 2009 thank's for the memories............
  4. it may take a while too get a bit of permission, but when you do, treat the land with respect do a good job keeping the vermin down and you will be surprised how word will travel, be it good or bad....... good luck.
  5. if your refering to the dryfire routine it's to help with flinching and they always use snap caps........ but to dryfire a rifle with no form of impact, i never do,
  6. forrester bore foam is good but used sparingly, KG products are also good but hard to come by in this neck of the woods.......
  7. lesson learned i think mate, however i'd still get it checked out.............
  8. the 22-250 may be granted a deer hunting permit but you may have to prove you have been stalking before and know the score, it's not an ideal calibre in my eyes for the large reds, how-ever as always said shot placement is the key, if you thinking of going down this route get yourself a 243 and trade in the .223, you still have a dual purpose round in the .243, good luck.
  9. the point of impact will change when you take the mod off, but the group should be still tight, have you checked to see if the barrel is in fact free floating, as a pressure point on the barrel will cause a few problems with poor grouping...... it's a head scratcher this one....
  10. the sako's and tikka's in .243 have a one in ten twist rate some will shoot 100g some won't just depends on the rifle in question, firstly, take the mod of, and fire a string of five shots, As if the mod is sus this will ingrease the group size.... try a few groups with the mod off, Do you use a good copper solvent, as copper build up may be a problem...... are mounts tights rings, etc, is the barrel free floating.... i shoot 95 grain sst's and 95g nosler partition's to great effect on deer, accuracy about 3/4 inch to slightly less at 100 yards. the sako 75 is an
  11. nice goingFH, if the weather stays nice i may get a run out tonight its been that long now since i got a trip out............
  12. i also agree with john on the topic of not identifying the target, if you can't don't pull the trigger, now the nightforce is built like a tank positive clicks and tracking, but for my 2p worth is not a great stalking scope, target yes excellent, the zesis conquest and the leupold are a match i would say, but i do like the leupold, the zesis is excellent also and every bit as good at far less money, IOR seemed to have a poor reputation years ago for poor quality, but this has all been sorted and people tell me its excellent, and even better than leupold optically, which must be good ......
  13. good going guys, thats a good distance for the 58g v-max, i used the 70g blitzkings to great effect at that range dropping them on the spot i suggest you give them a go guys..... you guys are starting to reach out there, no better feeling, keep it up....
  14. don't you just hate god damn curtain twitchers.........
  15. IOR used to be a poor quality scope back in the day but things have changed the scope build is excellent, and they should be a contender on your list as also the zesis conquest should be, As said any of the other well known brands also will do you proud, i use a leupold LRT 6.5x20x50, and find it excellent....if a bit pricy, the IOR will be equal if not better if i'm honest.....
  16. A little link some of you guys may find intresting if your thinking of going down the 20 tactical road.....it is still a wildcat, but ithink you can buy rounds in america!! http://www.6mmbr.com/20Caliber.html
  17. looks like their doing a fair bit of damage, look on the brightside you got all the makings of a good stew there after you shoot the buggers
