  1. do you have your own permission yet ?
  2. bad news ! sorry to hear it..
  3. i own 2 ruger 10/22T`s. one of them has a rimfire magic sear pack kit that cost £50 & has turned the trigger into what resembles a smooth target trigger which also has a travel adjuster. on my other rifle i bought a WOLFF Spring Pack, e b a y number 370065363273 to try out... it aint worth a wank, so if anyone is thinking of getting one, dont bother, save your money ! i think ill be getting another rimfire magic kit. mind you, WOLFF spring packs do transform your trigger, they make the pull weight to 50lbs....
  4. very true ! theres no such thing as a semi open ticket.
  5. cheers for that... thats what i would agree is an open ticket.. rich
  6. yeah youre right... our conditions only allow us to shoot on land that has been passed for a certain calibre. i spoke to mike evely at the BASC firearms department, & he stated that an open ticket will allow a person to shoot on what ever land he deems suitable & sees fit & will except all responsibility as long as he has permission from the tenent / land owner. rich
  7. what do you lads class as an open ticket ? i tell you why i ask, on my additional conditions it states the following... " the .22 rimfire rifle (s), sound moderator (s) & ammunition shown on this certificate shall be used for shooting vermin & for zeroing on ranges, or land deemed suitable by the chief officer of police for the area where the land is situated & over which the holder has lawful authority to shoot " these conditions are a closed license. i was having a discussion with a bloke a while back & he said he had an open ticket with these same conditions, the
  8. what is the wording on your license under the additional conditions ?
  9. I tried that and found out i couldn't tell if they had all showed at a burrow mouth ,so i came out with the bright idea of using a differnt coloured marker pen on there heads so i could tell them apart ,first time i did it i opened the box and they had rubbed against each other and they where all colours .back to the drawing board . the 3 main albino`s i use, i can tell them apart, no prob. this season ill be adding 3 more to the team. mind you, if its neccessary to see which one is which, it could be an idea to use different colour collars, be easier to die leather. im not
  10. i agree with undisputed its much easier to get permission by offering your services by ferreting first, then when their comfortable with you, & can see you can be trusted & reliable you can ask if you could use an air rifle on certain areas where it wouldnt be suitable to ferret. just keep trying, but dont expect permission to be given from a hunting site.. look on www.yell.com & look up all the farmers in your area & contact them in person "face to face". good luck in your search. rich
  11. i prefere to use albinos, much easier to see in the corner of your eye..... this season ill be working 6 albinos..
  12. .....what has led him to this gun (whatever it is) what has he based his buying decision on???? i was waiting for it....
  13. now im using it on a regular basis.... i pre bait it with the bob wires left open for a while to get them confident, then when the bait is been taken i set the doors, i personally think the more birds that are inside, the more relaxed the others are...
  14. a couple of minutes... as soon as i baited it up & sat on the lawn 3 metres away to set the camera up, it came down, had a wonder around, then bingo !
  15. youre welcome..... im glad theyve gone to a good home, talk soon..
  16. comanche, ive just returned from the garden to check the traps to make sure none had gone off empty.. when i got there i saw the little f****r pushing a load of earth out, tried cutting him off with the trowel, but no joy. he was pushing the earth out of a dead end & they was a large mound he pushed out on top of an old hill aswell... i just done the same as you, placed a talpex in the dead end.. i better have him by tomorrow
  17. call them first thing & get you credit card ready !
  18. the garden is totally over run with tunnnels everywhere... when you walk in certain places the ground willl just give way with the amount of mole activity. he had a company in a few times to gas them & charged a small fortune with no real result, but since hes got me in the mole activity is very minimal. the main garden " 3 acre" hasnt seen any activity since i last cleared it, theyve just started to appear by the main lawn. i must admit though, the soil is very wet / damp, just seems strange that on both visits a large number of traps have been triggered with no results
  19. fair play steve ! looks the biz.....

  21. yeah you could pick one up for £60 with one collar if your lucky. but i think these loc8tors are only ideal if a ferret wonders off above ground ... & i know what your saying about the gadget factor, i cant help myself. just got myself a new goodmans digital recorder to record footage onto. gonna be testing the cam today. rich
  22. been called back to a regular customer who had a major mole problem... a few months back i ended up clearing 20 moles from his lawn/land. he called me a few days ago as two more areas have been effected. the first place is by a compost heap that has around 8 mounds of earth kicked up. in this area ive taken 2 moles within 3 days & have left the traps to take more which im sure i will get. the 2nd place is on the lawn right by his front door, a large area affected. i set 5 traps, 3 duffus & 2 fenns. on the following day 3 of the traps were activated, thought one must be
  23. bigred, they cant give it away for free ! end of the day, £60 for a plus & 2 collars & £40 for a lite & 2 collars cant be moaned about. people on here complain that they cant afford the mk1 or a mk3, this is a very cheap alternative, fair enough not everyone agrees on the importance of using a collar, but for those who want one & cant afford the deben this is perfect, maybe not to locate them to dig down to, but to keeps track of them if they were to wonder off. i know i could of done with these a few times. rich
  24. you got one mate ? yeah, i bought the plus version for £60 with 2 collars, i will use them on situations where the warren is surrounded by heavy undergrowth wheres a possibility the ferret will wonder off.
