  1. im not too up to date with the Anschutz rifles, but is your rifle a bolt action or a semi ? i use a ruger semi & a cz varmint bolt action & have a sak on each, i find my bolt action like chalk & cheese compared to my semi due to action noise even though i have a dampener inside.. what im going to do to make my ruger more quieter is put two of my saks together, i can unscrew the front piece of the sak & screw the other sak up front " probably not recommended from the manufacturers " but ill try it, obviously it wont make the action quieter, but reduce the muzzle sound..
  2. even though all the answers are in the posts above ill expalin: there 2 types of tickets. open & closed. now, there different types of conditions. eg: 1# a person can only shoot on a certain piece of land that he & his rifle / calibre have been passed on & that land only (closed ticket ) . 2# the .22 rimfire rifle (s), sound moderator (s) & ammunition shown on this certificate shall be used for shooting vermin & for zeroing on ranges, or land deemed suitable by the chief officer of police for the area where the land is situated & over which the ho
  3. im normally an NV shooter, but ive been thinking of getting one for a while just to stick on the motor, never know when ill need it.. i looked at those deben rotolights, but ive heard alot of negative things about them, they tend to move too fast so you tend to over shoot your target ect ect.
  4. has anyone used one of these ? pro`s & cons please. http://www.emergencyequipmentshop.co.uk/re...4c8250e83ca3c28
  5. I have already offered hahahaha!! Cheers mate!! I think I have looked at that one with the scope attatchment is it good enough for rabbits out to 40 yds max?? No mate neither of us have ever used nightvision before. no problem out to 40yards with an extra ir....
  6. is this the unit ? http://www.nightvisioncentre.co.uk/product...?products_id=38
  7. i paid £75 for the screwcut, recrowning & proofing & £45 for the other to be screwcut & recrowned. i went to two different shops to get them done, but found out they take them to the same gunsmith " someone at bisley ". i would go for the sak moderator, you cant go wrong for £28. there is one over barrel moderator that i saw advertised, but ill have to see if i can find the site, but the cost was £130ish i think. rich
  8. merlin cobra gen1 with an illuminator. the unit will cost £329 with a cage " scope attachment " & depending on what illuminator you go for depends on what distance you want to shoot out to. for air rifle you could go for a 75mw ir illuminator £99 & for rimfire range ideally you would need a 150mw ir illuminator . have you ever used nv before ?
  9. i have a ruger 10/22T bullnosed barrel cut down to 12" & fitted with a sak, i also have another ruger 10/22T bullnosed barrel (standard). i had them both professionally screw cut & only one proofed. i find the grouping of the standard barreled rifle more tighter & especially when im shooting out to +yards, not much in it, but still a slight difference. but as i use the 12" rifle only for vermin, i can live with the difference. the standard rifle i use for vermin & competition shooting, so in my experience i notice a difference. rich
  10. quote No i havent been turned down for anything. If someone is vetted and can be intrusted to hold firearms why should he need a good reason!! Most countries in europe dont have this good reason thing, and they dont have blood baths because of it! JOE BLOCKY just so i can work out where youre coming from, for example: i ask my FEO if i can have a .308, he asks, what do you want it for ? i say, no real reason, i just want to have one ! whay do you think will be his answer ? i reckon he will say no, infact i know he will say no. im a holder of a FAC & SGC, but i
  11. i take it youve been turned down for a certain firearm calibre ? they have to have some kind of restrictions on the type of firearms people can hold. i think that if someone can show a neccessary need to hold a firearm then thats ok, but if not, why should they have it. i think the whole idea with the shotgun vs the firearm is that less damage can be done with a shotgun a long distances. rich
  12. hi G i would definately try with dying the nets & disguising the poles with camo somehow.... worth a try. also would it be possible to have less poles ? maybe a metre or so extra between each pole ? just a thought. rich
  13. i reckon the last thing on a bolting rabbits mind is the colour of net hes gonna hit ! brighter colours are easier to notice when picking them up. rich
  14. as soon as the warrens are accessable, if need be, cut the brambles out the way....
  15. others might advise differently, but when i got new ferrets & introduced them to each other it was constant fighting, i left them all together for about 3 hours & they were rucking the whole time, i kept an eye on them to make sure no blood was being spilt, but they were at it big time, its the pecking order, showing whos boss. now i have 8 ferrets living together with no problems atall.. even when the others work, they wont bother each other, they just get to work as they should !
  16. always one.... theres nowt wrong with them.... their not hunting, their having a wonder round my garden... wont find any rabbits there !
  17. cheers lads ! im going to have a strong working team this season.... 5 hobs & 1 jill.. ive bread these for strength & size. should smash the warrens. rich
  18. let the 3 news kits out today " bert, egg & bacon " dont ask !, for the first time to have a wonder.... looking forward to getting them to work, will have a team of 6 albinos... heres a short clip..
  19. nice job scothunter ! plenty of room there. do they live in the mesh court or does that shed attached house them & the meshed area is an outside run ? rich
  20. the reason why i asked was that your only 10 miles from me & if you had your own permission i would shown you the ropes on your plot.. i just have to be careful now as to who i invite to my patches as a while back i invited a bloke down & he ended up back dooring me, luckily it was only on land that was for ratting & not rabbits, ratting is something ill never do again, but a lesson learnt, "once bitten twicw shy" . personally if i was you, i would start knocking on doors now as getting permission is a very hard thing to do... if you need any help in the future, give m
  21. i would call up richter & ask them if you could send it in for a look.... i just got my scope back today from falcon optics, the side parallax wheel came off & it wouldnt go back on. they fixed it for free, all im paying for is the return postage. . i bought it 2nd hand & it wasnt under warranty, cant get a better service than that. rich
  22. I know mate in hindsight i should left it when i noticed the price.Ah well its there now.Just got to fix it on the roof now. well at least its going to good use... B&Q & homebase have got to be the last resort, wickes aint too bad... ill be getting a load of new timber myself this week to build an outside section to the court, ill probably end up at travis.
  23. it probably would of been cheaper to go to a builders merchant instead of B&Q that rip off joe public. i get all my building materials with 60% trade discount...
