  1. im applying for a 17HMR in the next few weeks as ive seen a rifle im after, what is the recommended zeroed distance & how flat will the trajectory be out to what distance..... thanks...
  2. nice one... its a good feeling seeing a new bunch at it, looking forward to putting my 3 new kits to work....
  3. the bloke who posted that is off the airgunbbs... all that is is a yukon ranger that has had the x5 front lense replaced with a x2 lense from a yukon nvmt, he had to make a scope mount to attach the yukon... this is his set-up below.. a new ranger will cost £280 & the extra lense will cost £40, all you need to do then is make a mount, personally i would stay well clear of that idea. i did go down this route myself, but to be honest it aint worth a wank at long distance.... very blurred at a certain range.. these are pictures i took through a dedicated unit i use to o
  4. maybe one of these units will be ideal for you... has the benefit to use it in day & night... http://www.northeastfieldsports.co.uk/inde...mp;productId=70
  5. dedicated or add-on ? & to be honest £3000 is over kill for a unit to go on an air-rifle....
  6. go for a merlin cobra with an ir illuminator, perfect for air-rifles or rimmies....
  7. It was either a thicker rim than other cases or longer over all length of the round, I can't remember which as it was last year I was messing about with different ammo types, I just stick with Eleys now How did you get on at the club? i managed to get down the club this morning & done a test with 3 types of ammo, mainly just to get rid of excess ammo in the box... 50mtr range, bench resting: winchester subs: 1" grouping remmingtons subs: 1.5" grouping cci subs: nigh on through the same hole, but still not as accurate as the eley subs, theyll do for the vermin
  8. i thought it was a rapid by looking at the action, bottle & silencer, but where the mag goes in is too far forward for a rapid... just noticed the safety switch on the side aswell,...
  9. nice one, nice clean kill.... is that a super 10 ?
  10. deker, i tested some Magtech in my cz & at 25yards in an indoor range bench resting on a bipod, i was getting 1.5" groupings, for me there definately a no go... but eley are through the same hole, literally.... ill stick to eley..
  11. Hi JD..... just done a few test shots in the garden & it seems straight forward... i have a regular visit from a fox every night, so ive set it up in the garden as a test, so fingers crossed i should pick him up ... rich
  12. after a long wait from our friends at customs, my game camera finally arrived..... going to spend the next few days learning the ropes & then put it to good use, so hopefully have some decent pictures too show in the future.... rich
  13. one piece of advice, & i say this from experience ... take a rubber mallet & hit the bottom of the stock whilst the rifle is cocked as these kits can make the rifles unsafe... lucky for me & who else would of been effected i found this out when i was down the range, when i put the bolt forward the rifle fired due to the trigger been too sensitive...
  14. jazz, i see in your avatar that you have a feret in your hand, i take it you go ferreting ? why dont you ask if you can have permission with ferreting first, then gain their trust so they can see that you are respectfull & trustworthy then later ask if you can bring the rifle to help you control the pests ? dont sell the rifle, just keep trying, weve all been through it. good luck with your search.. rich
  15. Ian, whats the price going to be on them ?
  16. the mk3 box wont pickup a mk1 collar, but a mk1 box will pickup a mk3 collar.. the only difference is the speed of the bleeps, cant remember which one is slower..
  17. Wake up and read his details mate and see where he lives....................different rules apply. didnt realise i was asleep ! just because he has an irish flag dont mean hes in ireland to me !
  18. with a shotgun cert, you can put as many shotties as you want on it, as long as you have the storage for them, its not like a FAC where you need to apply for a variation slot.. who told you that ? rich
  19. I owned the same gun but in .17hmr 6 months ago,had to sell it due to the barrel being pushed to one side and now own a sako quad.I have found that the sako is more accurate than the cz but youve got a serious problem with yours.Just a thought babout the shop you bought it from that said that they zeroed it in at 100yards.In my opinion this disance for zeroing a 22LR is way too far.Take it back and ask them how they could get it zeroed at 100yards when you cant get it zeroed at half that distance!! good point, didnt pay attention to that... why would they zero it in at 100yrds ???
  20. thats the first thing to do & secondly, have a look at the crown on the barrel.. i had a ruger that couldnt shoot for shit, as soon as i got it re-crowned it was bang-on.. just to add, have a look inside the end of the moderator & have a look if the bullets have been making contact with the end on the inside, could be that the mod isnt bang-on, i also had this same problem with a theoben with a badly fitted mod... rich
