  1. please dont think im trying to be smart, but surely no one would need a range finder for air rifle ranges, youll only be shooting out to 40 yards max.. if i was you i would save myself a few quid & learn how to judge distances... try it when you are walking & fix your eyes on an object & guess how far it is, by the time youve walked to it you should know if youre right... rich
  2. ive still got a tin sitting here.... not bad close range, but anything over 25yrds, forget it.. my personal opinion is their shite, but each rifle will have different results..
  3. this subject is becoming more & more frequent on this section... working ferret, pet ferret or working pet ferret ! its all getting boring now ! one thing i will say is that it always seems like the same people are making arguements or looking for arguements... just get on with things.. edited to say: why dont you lot keep your arguements in pm, your turning this section to shit !
  4. does anyone have any experience with this ammo ? , its £13.75 per 100 which is cheap as.... obviously im a believer that you get what you pay for, but at this price i think it could be worth trying..
  5. sounds like a good day was had.... i went to bisley today for the first time & shot at the 200 am/pm details... as soon as i get my .223 sorted ill be a regular visiter.... still trying to make my mind up on which rifle to get..
  6. what are purse nets i havent had them out my bag in ages, infact, im putting together my other quickset 100yrder.. sorry coatesy for going off subject...
  7. ive used 6 of mine before & 3 of a mates on a single warren at the same time that had approx 45/50 holes on a steep bank that was over a 10 metre distance, with 9 ferrets put to work seemed to do a good job, no point letting them hole hop.. ill be honest, its not often that that many numbers are needed, but occassionally its a must.
  8. fair play, be interesting to see how it works..... any pictures ?
  9. personally, i would stick to the bow box...
  10. what HMR is it ? just got my license back today with a slot for .22 .223 & 17HMR... been looking at a few HMR`s, was going to go with a cz varmint as the .22 i have is bang on, but im also looking at a marlin 917vs, but the one i was looking at has been chopped down to 14", maybe too much chopped off.. what scope you using ?
  11. ill be carrying it around minimal, mostly using it from the vehicle or bipod & occassionally shooting down bisley... mainly for foxing...
  12. just got a slot on my ticket for a .223, ive decided to go for a remington 700 as i like the look & feel of the rifles & theres a few good reviews about them... im stuck between getting the sps varmint, tactical or the police. could anyone enlighten me with any pro`s & cons with what they have experienced, ill also be getting it screw cut & will be needing a moderator, so your views on that also please... last thing, 1/9 or a 1/12 twist, ill be shooting out to 250/300 yards max. thanks rich
  13. i was out the other day with a few mates from here & 2 of us were using a mk1.. mine was a 15ft box & collars & the other was a 8ft box & collar.. towards the end of working the first set there was one ferret left underground with a mk1 8ft collar on, i used my mk1 15ft box & picked it up at 3.5ft approx & when using the mk1 8ft box it was picked up at 2ft down... my question: has anyone else come across this ? i now take it a mk1 15ft box wont give an accurate reading with an 8ft collar & visa versa.
  14. thats what i was thinking, i wouldnt be using bleech... white vinegar with rice grains works a treat..

  18. cheers for the invite today steve.... good to get out with you & pat again. we had a gooden today, with a constant flow of bolters, & ted done well chasing them into the longnet from that seperate warren.. a few shots from today.. ted marking a hole from the moment we arrived... we ended up taking 3 bolters from this warren & dug down 2 foot to pull another one out... few more... towards the end of the day we had another position marked, we ended digging down 3 foot where a ferret was located still for 5 m
