have to move with the times, technology... i personally wouldnt put a line on a ferret, too much of a risk of it getting tangled up & caught on something, also no one can tell what a warren is like under ground, might end up wrapping its self round cross tunnels, then it would be f*****... & i dont believe in the saying " in the old days we use to, ect " well in the old days we use to walk everywhere, but now we have cars, boats & planes.. technology makes life easier..
  4. john.... all you need is a monitor with a video input or AV channel, this lead would come from the video out lead from the yukon.. i also had one of those archos units, to put anything through it that isnt archos you have to buy their specially adapted lead to take phono leads, i think the lead is about £70/80 ?? i sold my unit straight away.. for recording now i use the Goodmans GPDR40 40GB, which will take any device, but still has a small screen.. e b a y item: 170270195225 there is other unit on e b a y with 18" screens, whats your budget ?
  5. did you manage to sort your mk3 out ? i took mine out a few weeks back & it didnt work for the first 5 minutes, then it made a quieter sound than normal, then after 5 minutes it seemed to be fine... i had mine stored in the internal garage, so i put mine down to that.. did you contact deben ?
  6. no prob, i kind of keep myself to myself.... maybe not such a good thing.. that bloke & his Mrs that were sitting at the front right took the fly as it was said they were the " future " of the pest industry... you didnt miss much by leaving early, just a few questions asked to Ian & Ross, covering exactly what was said in the first place.. but as MT said, they are organizing a follow up date to see how every one is progressing, ill try to make it to that... rich forgot to say, you missed one bloke getting ripped by Ross about his business cards, something to the effe
  7. the equipment doesnt cost much, got all the gear sitting here as i use to be a cctv engineer, dont need to be a professional film maker, its a bit of fun..
  8. Hi MT, like wise, it was good to see you too, killgerm girls i have to agree, it was a good day with loads of good info, but also alot of stuff i took for granted & didnt pay much attention to before, they opened up my eyes.... now its just putting the techniques to practice... i ended up taking an extra hour getting home due to the M1 been shut off... all the best & good luck with the course..
  9. youre all welcome.... just make sure after you fit it to engage the bolt & to give the end of the butt a good couple of whacks with a rubber mallet to see if it goes off by its self.... these kits can make them over sensitive..
  10. cheers lads, well fingers crossed ! not been negative, but i reckon as soon as they go a few metres down it will blank out, but hey, if i dont try, i wont know... just a bit of fun really.. as said in previous posts, im waiting for the undergrowth to die right back on a certain warren that is only a couple of feet deep in the middle of a patch where i can drive to in order to power the receiver with my converter that is wired up to the motor.. soon as i get some footage, & it turms out ok, ill put it up.. rich
  11. I'll second what richie has said, I've had simular happen on a shooting permission, which makes us look bad to the land owner/manager, but as richie say's, cant tar everyone with same brush was gonna ask you rich, if you fancied doing that patch in harlow next saturday, we could always blindfold him and bundle him into the boot or something im up for that, ill let you know definately mid week if i can make it.... the offers there joe ?

    youre not wrong....
  13. the only problem with inviting people out on permission is the risk that the person invited will try & back door the permission.... its happened to me on here when i had a piece of ratting permission, never met a bigger low life scum bag ! a lesson learned... not that i can tar everyone with the same brush, but once bitten, twice shy ! you live very local to me, ill try & sort out a piece of permission that theres no risk of any one going behind my back... but we`ll have to meet up before hand to have a chat.. pm me your contact details..

why dont you just invest in £5 to buy a good tick removing tool instead ? me personally, i wouldnt bother with any of that gear.... you can get hold of these from any decent pet shop... removes the tiniest of ticks..
