Used just about most things over the years, both paper & straw were good (for the dogs) but messy and a real pain to clean up after, the paper sticks too much when out the box and wet and the straw really can give the drains a bad time! Now with two dogs and a 'reduced' kennel set up I came across a dog bed at the local market, with a 'memory foam' pad inside a tough nylon outer layer, I drop it in their sleeping quarters every night whilst they are eating with a fleece type blanket and fish it out and give it a shake the next morning, as my younger dog, if left in the kennel, will sti

I've just returned from what was a very interesting and enjoyable day. Certanley NOT what I was expecting....! First off, the fecking size and scale of the place, huge!! Now I'm certainley not into KC breeds, all that funky running your fancy mutt round a ring....... and some of the grooming... BUT for all things canine, unbelivable!! Breeds that I have only read about, breeds i've never heard of and then the equipment..... Us working dog folk are always on the look out for vetinary supplies..... stalls full of 'em, magazines and mail order too. Plenty of stalls that are

Thanks, it would be great to see something develop from this over time. Someone pointed out (it may have been you Chris not sure) the diferance in support/membership between us (this forum and others like it and all the organisations) and them (LACS as an example). We far far outnumber the antis, yet we get much worse press and are at war with each other and their smaller membership is working much better. Why? Well. I believe its because the members of LACS (and other antis) regardless of why they hate us and want to ban field sports, all have a common goal - to ban "blood sports". That -

Remember that dog ASME, 'ol Fleck, or rather The 'Reverend Fleck' as he was later named, for having the nasty little habit of wagging his tail like mad whilst shitting (loose, always loose!) and covering any unfortunate who was standing nearby to admire him ( a fair 'ol looker was 'the Rev') so the frase 'Let us spray' was adopted.....Daft I know!! I'm going Sunday..... Never been to a kennel club show, never wanted to and after....I'm sure I still wont. Just wanted to see it thats all Long, long before I knew what a game fair or a 'lurcher & terrier show' was (as a kid, 30+ years ago ). I'd always wanted to see it, it was all I knew back then. scars and scabs on face from bites or something else and how recent Sommat don't smell right here....... Bosun It is a genuine question , some of the cuts are fresh some are old, he is scared up bad with old wounds. its the more recent ones i am interested in, just making the dog heal quicker and make him more comfortable and less itchy. It is not mange or any other skin complaint at all. The only thing that dont smell right is your breath Bosun. Left home with my EBT and my Lakie terrier. My old lurcher stayed as she was the family dog. The EBT went back during the first week, my mum missed him too much (which was strange as she had always hated the breed an screemed when I brought the 'pig dog' pup home)! This was a ABDX, the only one I've seen (though i'm sure there are a few knockin about), not in the best nick in the pic, I was putting him right after some 'bag-head' had half starved the poor fecker. Racy for his type, I got him right but he never made the grade...far from it!!

When I owned hare dogs....... I liked to know my dog could kill a hare, by killing them...... When I knew I owned a dog that could..... I always admired a good strong hare that gave its all and if it lived to breed another year....... BUT....not too often !!

Your right Pedro, the 'one' Pie dog in the pic was from Wigan, his half tail was the accidental result of a car door. He was owned by two lads in his life, the first working him hard and building a bit of a reputation with him, the next (though still working him) really got him looking the part and put him to stud. Pie lined numerous bitches and it would be fair to say that a lot of poor stuff probably did come out (but then again, one mans meat.....) Pie was 'lost' in Arnside in the early 90's. If thats the Charlie dog that went to Liverpool from the WM, I do know it, put the lad on to buying it and went down for the sale. He was a half brother to my Buck and out of Dee. A dog that served his owner well

This is Tess again, with a young 3/4 to 3/4 cross, his sire was out of Pie and put to another genuine 3/4, he leveled out at 25" but I always suspected a little whippet blood in there somewhere as his build was light? A game little dog, this fox was taken by him single at 11mths, after comming back off a bunny run (and missing) and putting the fox up. Unfortunatley I had to let him go as he was always lookin for trouble with the 'Buck' dog, with only one outcome if unchecked!! He went on to do 'very well' for his new owner.
