  4. Not bad Jasper but for me, all three could do with a good pan of scouse.... a little too much rib...
  5. These are quotes i have read in books i found it a little hard to believe but my 6month old pup is clearing 4ft fences with ease am struggling to think what heights he will be clearing when hes older plummers dog jumped on to one and then down the other side at lambourne, wildfinder witnessed it. and mine can jump over a 4 ft wall which is bout 6 ft to get back and they both do it with ease. Yep, I did hear that it was on top then off the other side but if I remember right, the claim was that it had cleared it.
  6. They look well, good luck with your choice
  7. Worked as a 'van-lad' delivering confectionary when I was a kid, whilst delivering to a shop in a 'rough' area of the city I was shot in the head by a airgun, luckily it was a fair distance so more the shock and surprise than the impact. The driver didn't fair to well though, seconds after me he got hit in the back of the neck, carrying a stack of wooden cake trays, he fell forward and knocked himself out, smashed his nose with the fall, feckin blood everywhere. Police came, turned out to be a kid of about 10 with his dads gun.
  8. I'm sure Doxhope on here would be your man
  9. There are plenty of things that will help and most of them have been written already. There are no quick fixes to constant back problems, any results usually gained long term. I would agree with Bird on weight and good posture....essential! One of the biggest causes with backs is the loss of strength to the spines natural support. Without regular and correct excercise the muscle either side of the spine can fade slightly as we get older. We simply don't use them as much as when we were supple youngsters, then when we do need 'em (usually for heavy and aukward stuff) they simply cannot o
  10. This photo was taken 2 years ago when both these dogs had just started. The rough bitch has just finished her second full season of graft and after a 'reckless' start, she's settled down and is proving very steady and reliable. The smooth dog went the opposite way, a natural finder (above and below), he looked likely be sommat special at first but grew harder with every sucessive dig. Sadly, he didn't make it.
  11. Thats right Miles, John Nuttall...... mentioned in 'Rouges & Running Dogs'. I worked with an old boy when I was a kid that ran these crosses with Nuttall back in the day. Jimmy was a tennant farmer on the outskirts of Altcar estate back then, he lost the farm due to his coursing pursuits. Nuttall and Jimmy bred a few litters too, all specifically to course but he said they would tackle just about anythin. You mentioned Plummer too, when I worked with Jimmy it was the mid 's, I'd read a Plummer book or two back then and casually mentioned this to Jimmy..... His reaction left me s
  12. Wow p***y...... Looks like he knocked on the right door...... to get some grub. Nice to show the people who look on this forum that 'genuine' hunters have respect and fondness for the animals we hunt.
  13. Wolfy on here does a fair bit on the river through the summer Bullterrier, around the same spot you mentioned, also along by that big Chinese restaurant, Hall Road too.
  14. A bad start but a good end to the day.......

    lamping

Fair play to ye Frank, a man thats contented..... A rare thing with running dogs these days. For me, as I get older i'm swaying to much of the same, though I've always liked the numbers game and had some fair 'ol hauls BUT to play the 'numbers' game the bags don't have to be the biggest...... it's 'where' and 'how'...... Taking as 'little' as four bunnies off a speck where most fail to take one is numbers, two foxes from an area lamped to death at the end of the season is numbers, taking 'game' on the 'QT' where others 'fear to tred' is numbers...... :secret: Numbers measure your
  16. Welcome Blitz :welcomeani:
  17. Like it..... I BLOODY LOVE IT!!!! You are a gentleman sir, excellent work yet again!! For anyone looking at this post I cannot stress how good these collars are! I do believe all he says on the above post. I was lucky enough to meet Strong Stuff early last summer where he 'kitted' my Bullx dog with one of these (the photo is from the day after he got it), its had 12 months of 'graft' on it now and its as if it was bought new (apart from the mud!). I've never been 'shy' with buying good quality collars and leads for my dogs, these are the best I've seen or used. Keeping Bul
  18. Now I do like that and white too, as I've said before, for me, their is sommat about white dogs....
  19. Ditch, what a wonderful write-up to an unfortunate incident, its quite obvious how much it would mean if that little dog pulls through. Keepin my (usually un-supersticious) fingers crossed for all three of ye today.
  20. Very nice Skycat, good to see working types over here, I hope all turns out well for you.
  21. Great Adam Faith tale Ditch..... And 'three star' jumpers Wilky......Feckin classic, just sat on the top of the waist line on ye 'Birmingham bags'.... Bermo's round here!!
