  1. Ditch, what a wonderful write-up to an unfortunate incident, its quite obvious how much it would mean if that little dog pulls through. Keepin my (usually un-supersticious) fingers crossed for all three of ye today.
  2. Very nice Skycat, good to see working types over here, I hope all turns out well for you.
  3. Great Adam Faith tale Ditch..... And 'three star' jumpers Wilky......Feckin classic, just sat on the top of the waist line on ye 'Birmingham bags'.... Bermo's round here!!

  7. I was lucky enough to attend a talk night by the North Wales WTLC last night, the speaker was a Veterinarian and hunting Lawyer. Throughout his very informative talk on all aspects of hunting and the hunting act, he could not emphasize enough the 'dangers' of photography and film both to the individual and to hunting in general. He has delt with so many cases where the prosection has used seemingly 'harmless' photos (two lurchers marking a hole....."Marking badgers to be dug"!!) to try and convict...... Talk about a wake-up call. Though lets face it, its nothing we already don't know!! Th
  8. A bloody good write up on what looks like a very good event, fair play to ya Ghostly....... The safety and grub side is very commendable.
  9. That young smarmy 'Helmet' off Eggheads....... No, make that 'ALL' the feckin Eggheads, Dermott included..... The slowest, shittest quiz show on tv!!!
  10. Its excellent gear Wilf, got two pair from TKMax, cheep as......thats a good place to look for that type of gear
  11. As a kid my better half Tracy, had a Lab as the family pet. She was six when she got him and promptley named him 'Muffin'. The years rolled on an as a sixteen year old she was round at her friends house to collect her for a night out. Her friend was still upstairs getting ready and Tracy was sat in the living room with the rest of the family when their family Alsation came boldly in. Seeing the stranger it was right over and doing the 'usual' of trying to ram its head up Tracys short skirt. Trying to fend it off and sound unconcerned, with mother, father and two older brothers there, she blur
  12. I have read and re-read this post (and its link) and in my opinion is one of the best on this forum in recent months. Ditch as ever giving great 'food for thought'....... I'm near choked! Blue Coyote with some great responce and Wilf as ever..... almost painfully honest (i was gonna put frank but thats m.r.1's alias!). I wish I could contribute but I can't improve on whats been written by each and everyone. This is more of a 'bump' than a post...... Though if anything, I thought your last post Ditch was 'on the mark' concerning the current climate. A subject I chatted to StrongStuff a
  13. Bill, Skycat, I agree with both of you but as I said thats the mindset of what has been and what has been handed down through the years......
  14. I think thats about right Dog on, though there is still the case of lurchers being produced with a running dog (Grey or Whip) as they were/are easily available (and cheeper) and depending on the cross a 26"-27" Greyhound should pass pups more easily? My opinion would be thats whats always been and is still the case.....? I mentioned this to Doxhope a while back in a PM regarding Deerhound X's. I'll explain...... One of my first jobs as a kid was a lifeguard in a local swimming pool, an old guy, Jim, was the boilerman and an old lurcherman, he bred and ran dogs with John Nuttall of Cl
  15. Got to agree Nikey, they really do get used to it and enjoy the 'game'. Used to run with my dogs a while back, 'ol half x bull really took to it and I was gettin a great work out too (ideal if you had to be on your toes at hot spots!). After going to quieter places and him getting better I started running local....great! Came unstuck, whilst running down a duel carrageway, crossed a side road, bus stop on the right an a row of shops on the left, nearing the bus stop (its packed) a couple of 'hotties'...... 'looking good son, lookin good', I thinks as my head lifts and my stride improves..
  16. Funny that with Nuttall, i've seen (or rather heard) Brian give a number of 'talks' over the years at various club nights, some going back over 25years (the old Wigan Club). Always this question came up and he always denied putting bull blood in..... I've seen bull/russells, bull/blacks and a bull/lakie work and though some of them did and work well Bull/russells mainly, I'd question as to what the bull added to the mix that a decent line of terrier wouldn't? 'Game', 'hard'..... plenty of strains and lines out there just as game & hard and would agree with Nikey that added bull would ca
  17. Now that is a very tidy critter How old is he? If I was ever going for a 3/4 bred, that would be the X . I would hope he grafts as well as he looks. Best example i've seen on here yet.
  18. Your ideal show sounds just the ticket Wilf, ive got to be there Will Cammo Man be wearing the full Gimp suit, carrying that well rusted 'banjo' and could his very startled terrier make it to its class??

  20. Judging by the way that brindle pup is shaping up, i'd say plenty of critters will have their hands full next season
