Da slayer Little Timmy Undisputed Stabba and a bit of Wag The only posts on here worth readin.... Honest!! As for the subject, been done to death, I don't give a flyin feck whichever way you choose to run your dogs, as long as your out there runnin 'em! But like i've always said, IT AIN'T A FOX DOG UNLESS IT CAN KILL 'EM SINGLE, SEASON IN, SEASON OUT!!!

From Bolio's write up, this sounds right up my street, good stuff.

Ideation, is there bull blood in the terriers make-up?? Yep, it was collie/grey who had the problem with her bull blood lurcher. If i'm right on a drop of bull blood, find and read the posts and don't give the pup any free running.

Firstly, i'd agree with Lofty, our lurchers need a wider collar. From then, well it's down to the dog and what you've put in to it! I've ran with and without, 'controlability' is the key. Never had a dog 'snag' on a collar, seen plenty of collars save dogs necks on pre-ban stuff (especially bull bloods, who tend to 'grind in', laying down on quarry). Got to say, love a dog running free, without lead, without collar, going when it's required and watching a dog 'straining it's neck', the purest form of hunting! Alway's looks better collar free!! When all said an done it's down to you

if you could own 3 cars what would they be and why
Bosun11 replied to perthshire keeper's topic in General Talk
Cars are just A to B things for me, so... A spankin new Legasy for me, the diesel one, pref in black, with all the extras.... An Aston Martin, Vanquish, for the Mrs, her fave cars, (I love women of simple taists!!) And, some sort of limited edition Ferrari or summat, to sell off and pay the mortgage!! -
Beautiful house, good result, good pics and good post Rolf, thanks.

I really don't know what all the fuss is about??? The lad has put up a dog for sale, say's its a half x, if your in the market for one, go have a look at it, talk to the lad and make an informed choice from that. If not, shut up and let the lad sell his dog, you've all bought one at some time!!

Know a few lads in Huyton Dotty, the Liverpool fringes are chock full of pigeon and dog men, Speke, Huyton, Netherly, the Farm, Kirkby, Netherton.... The inner city does have 'em too but it's round it's edges that these men really know & do their stuff.

It's a crackin job Ronnie, especially for a first attempt, well done mate! I've done a similar design myself, with boxes that can be slept on in warmer weather and the top covered, recon thats the best for any dog.

Duckwing, thank you for putting up that link, i loved it, love to see old charicters, in any field and those boys certainly are, damn interestin too, as are your other bird threds. Never kept pigeons but have known many who do, like yourself dogs and birds usually go hand in hand and growin up, Liverpool had plenty of 'wiley old boys' who kept both, still one or two about here that are worthy of a documentary too! Thanks again.

On this site, folk are more pre-ocupied about whats in a dog rather than how it performes! I like Bird so I aint talkin about him. He just happened to start the thread but..........trust me when I say this, "It aint just this site!". Some ole boy asks a question about and "odd" cross on any site and I give my opinion that its probably not a good idea cuz facts are that it just wont work and HOLY HELL, you'd have thunk I called somebody's momma a whore. For f**k sake, it probably would have been better if I had said that. You an me both Dan, 'ol Bird is one of the good 'uns

just trying to imagine you and ss in Cumberland wrestling attire Well mind you don't get a little 'movement' with that imagination!! I'll have you know we look the feckin nuts in our frilly undies an John L's! Though SS might give it a miss next year, he has a strong yearning for that Turkish wresteling, says it's the oil...!!

most popular rabbit lamping cross.
Bosun11 replied to baldockbanks courser's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
On this site, most folk are too busy with what 'type' of lurcher they run, rather than how it performs!! -
That dog is a ringer for a bitch I owned a few years back, dunno what the feck was in her, just a lurcher to me, but she had all the attributes to make the grade, sadly a hidden tree trunk cut short a promising life.

dogs that have done 30+ rabbits in one night
Bosun11 replied to Trigger's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
That bitch to your left in the avatar pic, she had a few nights over 30, also did 30 twice on two consecutive nights. Half bred bull. Edited to add... Just re-read your post, she ain't 'performing' these days, sadly long gone! -
If it was my choice of those two litters... I'd look at the graft the parental half breds have done on each side, and being both types of collie, i'd also look to see which of those parental temperaments would suit YOU best.

Maurice Bell used to run a trail at his 'Day in the Dales' show at his kennels in Hawes, Cumbrian wresteling too. The trail was set so as the hounds left the show ground, they would run a circle round the hills giving full view for the full duration and finishing back by the spectators. Was a great watch. As his show was held in May most of the hounds were shaved down to combat the heat. Don't know if he still does it, ain't been back in about 10 years.

bull greyhound x rottweiler
Bosun11 replied to bullgreyhoundxrotty's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Once upon a time I had my eye on a very good bitch, owned by a local dick. I'd seen the bitch run on and off for a few years, heard nothing bad about her. The idiot who owned her treated her very badly, poor housing, worse food, running her injured etc! I offered him good money for her but he knew her worth. Months later a mate rang to say the lad wanted to sell me the bitch as he was getting out of dogs. Round like a shot I parted with the money and took home my prize. She needed putting right and she got the best of everything. She was soon looking well, too well?? I soon knew the reaso -
Like the look of him GS, big strong dog, keep us posted on how he goes

I only published it. Nothing else. I have made it abundantly clear i dont know anything about these types of working dogs. If you don't like the books then please don't buy them. Good Hunting..JD im not saying i dont like the books..i have only seen the four terrier books which i have here..they are good books, dont be so defensive darcy No probs, You have to be defensive!!lol I know the books are far from perfect, but i hope to improve them shortly now that i know what direction i need to go in. I have tried a few experiments with the books in the past few years and digeste

Pre-ban, there were some circumstances when you had to run doubled up, BUT a dog ain't a 'fox dog' unless it can kill 'em single... regular!
