    also add to the list were pyes brothers who some people did not here about Sam Bullseye Josh I did not see much of Josh but the 3of them had hearts of lions. I then lined Otter to Bullseye, brother and sister mating which produced Warlock and Frank who were good grafters then lined Warlock to a pure deerhound of B.G.'s in Liverpool Thanks mate, I did get Frank in my list but I was never gonna remember that many.

    To be honest Weasle your post says it all to me, because its about the standard of dog alone not the standards of who has trained it and to me, as much as I love to see a well trained mutt, it don't mean shite unless it is capable of catching stuff. Heart, desire, tenacity, ability, effort etc, call it what you will but some dogs are naturally better than others.

    The bottom line is that you'll need to look into whatever breed you choose. From experience, if I were in your shoes, it'd be a Lakeland type for me, off working parents. Lakies can be gassy, fiery types in the main and need little or no introduction to tackling.... well, just about anything!! To me they are ideal dogs for keen youngsters, very forgiving and very driven.
