  1. Long time ago, in a past life, i used to work on the Mersey Rescue Boat, i'd qualified as a Boatswain, pronounced Bosun before i left. Named my old EBT Bosun too, good name for a bull blood i've always thought but never heard it used since. Number 11 was on the door of the house we grew up in. My number (though never really 'lucky')!
  2. But what if it's dam was the real star material? Who in their right mind has a top class bitch and allows any donkey over it... Out of 'anything', there are no guarantees in this game. You just gotta shorten the odds.
  3. Find the best dog doing it now... Then swerve that and use its sire.
  4. Now there's a blast from the past... Zen's, been in that gaff a couple of times back in the day. Kept me nose clean though...Don't tell me you have been in Ts in Erith as well?.......you can't be as lacking in class as me mate surely? LolHaha, yes mate, i think i mentioned it to you before. I think it was T's that i was introduced to a Mr McLean, must be about 20 years ago. What was the name of yhat bar in Bexleyheath that was like a trappers lodge or sommat, used to go there too? My brother had the Golden Lion at Bexley Broadway..........that was a long time ago, he had it for years and retir
  5. I bought my first house for 13k, one cold water tap and an outside privvey. I can remember me Mam coming the day after i bought it and stating that something needs doing with the windows... I was thinking is she gonna help me get double glazing but next day she turned up with new nets and a pair of her old curtains, which me Dad put up. 'If your gonna be bringing all sorts back here (girls!) I'm not havin anyone talkin about it, or you, or me for that matter!' Not daft my Mam...
  6. I've sorted that post Paddy. A vet is the right choice mate to help it. A fine looking dog that, best of luck with it.
  7. Net curtains are best washed and put out on the line the night of a hard frost and brought in late the next day when dry.
  8. With plainings it could be either piss or cleaning chemicals reacting with it. Has it been compacted down and what is under it. Would everything soak down and through. It just seems an unusual and unhygienic kennel floor.
  9. Some cracking Russell's being shown. Good to see your pics Lutra Lutra. Is that Thatch related to Burt's old bitch of the same name?

  12. Funny watching that but the one thing that i just couldn't take off anybody would be being spat at.
  13. Met Earnie Shavers a couple of times on the door in Liverpool. A very nice chap. There more for status than actual work.

  15. The only thing that surprises me is that after all these years, the man still sells enough pups to warrant keeping 100 greyhounds...!!
  16. We done a very similar thing years back with my mates old dog Jet, we took him over Altcar for a last hare. He was about 14 and well past his coursing days. My mate figured the run will either kill him or he would ensure he went after doing what he loved.Well old Jet was slipped and caught the bloody hare on the straight...! We were so gobsmacked, my mate never had the heart to do anymore than take him back home for a good feed... Funny as feck looking back! What a lucky dog lol ......That old bugger deserved it's spec on the couchYep, it got one too, though my mate did try one other thing to
  17. Anywhere serious should be left as late as possible.

  19. Yep, 50th anniversary memorabilia would have been a great start to people talking... Because it's all gone quiet..!
  20. That's right mate, started in 1966, the year before i was born, yet in the late 70's when i was a mad keen kid, i knew who they were and wanted to join... How many kids know that today?? This year 'should' have been a massive year for the club, every on line hunting dog site should know about it through massive promotion...
  21. I believe all our 'governing bodies' (is that the right wording?) Need a huge promotional drive for the people who could/should be joining them. To me they've almost skipped two generations of hunters.. People who will join, pay subs, help, enhance and promote. The F&MWTC is such a prestigious club with a fantastic ethic, aim and long history (Cyril Tyson was a founder member FFS!!) Every man who puts a terrier to ground should be a member, no if's, but's or maybe's.... The F&M need to keep in house politics and squabling out of it, stick to its basic constitution and promote, promote
  22. Stabs took his two lurchers down under and hunted them with success i believe. I've seen some cracking photos of his dogs in some bizzare terrain hunting different quarry. He pops into here every so often and if he does, i'm sure he'll put a decent post up about his own dogs adapting to that enviroment etc.
