I was thinking that just today after I posted that, it wouldn't take that long to pile up and it could just be used and replaced every so often to keep decent shelf life. Will have to sort out a box in the garage for it.Must also sort out a SG fca as well. just buy stuff you eat anyway and rotate it mate That's exactly what I was thinking, freezer always has plenty of meat in it, all animal no human.

the John Seymour is really good best book out off all them the canning book is Wilbur f Eastman jr author and it has everything you need too know from how too build smokers too recipes and talks about everything and I mean everything every types of cuts and exact times and things you need too do canning and also how long you can leave things before things start going wrong Excellent, that's going in the basket as well. I got the book Basic Butchery of livestock and Game by John Mettler. I recommend it.

Its one of those conundrums is it interfering or not. It's a technicality but food is abundant for the sparrow hawk and anything else could have disturbed it. You had respect for the hen looking after its brood and how difficult it can be. I put that down to you been a hunter and having knowledge and respect for animals, if that makes sense. It's not going soft, it would be entirely different If it was a rare animal being scared off weak prey say leopard about to down an elderly zebra.

I am starting to think that those doomsday preppers aren't so nuts after all. I think food wise more people will start to grow their own. With the amount of people on the planet I can't see there been a shortage of meat. Macabre as it sounds, previous civilisations have been cannibals for generations before it became taboo with Western explorers brings their teachings and rules with them. However on a lighter note it would bring new meaning to "Fancy an Indian or a Chinese tonight love?" .

Years ago I was in a house that an Irish Traveller lived with her children after she left her site because her fella beat her. I was doing flooring with my cousin. She made a crackin cup of tea and her hospitality was real Irish hospitality. And the place was cleaner than a surgical ward. Her kids were great and friendly. You're right Big G it is utter shite but we're only tossing shite round like we would in the pub.
