  1. My secondary education came to an abrupt end way before the leaving age. I had a 'difference of opinion' with the school. I know my intellectual limitations. If the majority of top scientists the world over tell me that the earth is round, that we evolved from apes, that smoking causes lung cancer, that being too fat heightens your risk of heart disease, that a nuclear bomb could devastate the world and that we are destroying the planet with greenhouse emissions. I believe them! What special qualification does Joe Public have to challenge these views? Just arrogance or stupidity or both.
  2. Had a springer that could steal milk botles from neighbours' steps, overturn bins and eat everything from potato peelings to baco foil. His speciality was eating calf shit. Lived for the stuff.
  3. Welcome back mate. And straight into the heavy duty stuff...brexit. I daren't go there, it's too xxx rated for me.??
  4. Just checked out that Aussie guy (Bolt) who fronts the video. He is a complete conspiracy theorist nut . He believes serial sex abuser Cardinal Pell is completely innocent. Arsehole.
  5. Skimmed that pdf document. Very grim. I hadn't realised cereal yields would be so badly affected. Jesus, my grandkids are going to have it tough.
  6. He has ignored the international scientific consensus which tells us we are in big trouble from rising sea levels, a significantly hotter planet and more frequent extreme weather events unless we significantly reduce levels of Co2. It's not a chinese hoax, it's not up for debate, it's accepted fact.
  7. Shame on him. Climate change is real. He is selective in his choice of stats. The girl is probably heavily influenced by her parents but that doesn't mean her mesaage is wrong. 8 of the warmest summers on record have happened in the last 10 years in the UK. Instead of summers we often get monsoon weather. I believe in global warming, I can see it happening.
  8. Many moons ago we were culling foxes. We had left a dead sheep in a field and flashed lights for several days over the corpse to familiarise them with lamps. We had counted eleven different foxes attracted to the smell. Perfect windy night we released the big dog. He ran straight down the beam and tucked into the sheep as though he hadn't been fed for a week.☺ I trained a springer to perfection. Convinced my shooting buddies he was a future field trial champion. First day out he performed like a real un. Until he scented a hare and f****d off into the next county. That took a lot of livi
  9. Eubank senior and Mike Tyson have similar voices. I've always presumed having the piss taken out of them as youngsters made them who they are: fighters.
  10. If you are a parent in many parts of the inner cities it feels like a war when you are frightened to let your kids go to the local park because of feral, neanderthal youths "sicking on" large dogs which are only valued because of their intimidatory appearance and aggressive temperaments. To say nothing of the kids having to avoid dog shit (probably from unwormed dogs). I visit relatives in Manchester regularly and believe me they feel under siege from such dogs and their anti-social owners. There you go, "war" and 'siege" more war imagery. They should make me prime minister, f**k tabloid jou
  11. Working dogs, gun dogs, lurchers etc would of course be exempt from insurance.?
  12. I think we are on the same page Wilf. As far as Beef cattle go jmo but I've think they've gone too far with size. Some breeds are so big calving becomes a problem. Any bigger and the bull will have trouble rearing up to serve the cow. Double the size of the herd and half the size of the breed would be my unthought out suggestion.?
  13. Owners of these "war" dog breeds should be compelled to insure them against attacking people.Muzzling in a public place should also be compulsory. For example 100 notes per annum to insure a poodle. Three/ four/ five grand per annum for akitas, mastiffs, rotties. It's the same principle as car insurance, the younger you are the more powerful the car the more you pay. No insurance .?.dog destroyed. At least victims of atacks would receive compensation. No insurance? Dog seriously attacks somebody....learn to like porridge.
  14. Interesting research, but there's a bit of a leap to say from the results of one study that ' the same is true in all mammals'. I don't think they have demonstrated that. I remember reading about 'the strange male' phenomenon in mice. Basically if a pregnant mouse is separated from her mate and introduced to a new mate , she will often abort/absorb her unborn offspring and then immediately become pregnant to her new mate. It's been demonstrated that mice exhibit that behaviour but other species do not. Not as far as I know at any rate. However I know from reading Keith Erlandson's book on
  15. Offer to give chocolate or chips to someone's dog and they will refuse and be offended. Offer to give chocolate, chips, burgers, any other shite to a kid and they will thank you. Weird.
  16. I don't like the way you think. You attitudes are all wrong because you don't agree with me. I'm reporting you to Big brother ! You need some correctional thinking. Expect a knock on the door.
  17. Lots of people routinely cover their faces: hoodies, blokes with long peaked baseball caps, muslim women. What guarantee have we got that there isn't a case of mistaken identity? What guarantee we won't be suddenly arrested for not paying a parking fine? None. A couple of years back I was in Italy. Italians are supposed to carry ID all the time and tourists their passports. Three cops went along a queue in a railway station checking everybody's papers whilst trying to look as sinister as possible. When they came to me I told them my passport was in my hotel bedroom in a safe. They
  18. A terrorist who isn't completely mentally defective will cover his face with a hat or other piece of clothing. How much success has this technology had? The brits have a long tradition of not carrying ID cards,of not having our movements tracked, and not living in a police state..... but our traditional freedoms are being attacked big time by these cameras.
  19. The state is watching my movements. I want to live in a free society where the state leaves me alone. I did not give consent to have my movements monitored. What happens to these images? How long are they held for and for what purpose? Why are innocent people being monitored? Why can't the technology only record those on terrorist/ serious criminal databases? Surveillance on private individuals has increased a lot over the decades. It makes me feel uncomfortable. It's the thin edge of a very thick wedge.
  20. Apparently these cameras are becoming the norm for police forces and even private organisations. They take images of everybody including children. Nobody has given their consent for these cameras. They have just been sneeked in without parliament or citizens giving approval. Big brother! Maybe there's a case for their use with a limited databank of terrorists or seriously dangerous criminals, but Joe Public should be protected from these invasive devices.
  21. Lke the idea of night vision/ thermal imaging but can't justify high prices on my budget. Anything half decent for a few hundred quid?
  22. Stoney the video you put up is the one I meant. Thanks.
  23. You are right Baker Ali in his younger years was an unapologetic racist. But he mellowed as he got older
  24. I don't think it is Stoney. I'll keep looking for it.
  25. There was one that got really heated. I think it was something about Ali having white friends but being a member of the black muslims organisation. Ali was genuinely pissed off because he thought Parky had sneaked in an issue which hadn't been agreed. Good watch. This clip is a good watch. Ali pushes him, really riles him and then says "back offa me". He says he will punish Terrel in the ring and he did. Gave him a right hiding repeating " what's my name?" The papers were really critical of Ali because they reckoned the punishment he dished out to him wasn't necessary. He could
