If everybody agreed to only write what they would say face to face, then the chat would be a lot more civilised. Hiding behind your anonymity is low.

"Sailing by". Otherwise known as intro to the shipping forecast on radio4 . Brilliant. Never fails to hit the spot.

Seems a serious, credible guy. Scary. Wtf is out there?

My youngest used to compete for the fire with a lurcher bitch in exactly the same way. It was supposed to be a kennel dog but it ended up his shadow. I had to have it pts when it was 9. I don't think he's forgiven me yet. I remember when he was about six I accidentally stood on its paw causing it to yelp. The wee bugger punched me hard in the balls in retaliation for hurting his dog. I blame his mother's genes.

Let your mind clear, get the funeral over. Family members do disappear at times like these. They don't want to face up to things. I wouldn't fall out with them. It's not worth it. Try to stay calm. Phone the Samaritans. Maybe think of seeing the doctor. Don't make any decisions when your mind is like this.

Funny I often go to Durham Miners Gala where lads still march to their colliery bands and recall the struggle against Thatcher. But with the benefit of hindsight coal had to go for environmental reasons. If only Thatcher had put money into regenerating the coal mining areas to provide jobs instead of just destroying it all. Bitch.

"Meat is Cancer!"...............................NOPE!

The one thing I have noticed with regard to health is that the vast majority of old men have flat stomachs. The grim reaper loves fat bellies. I've seen a lot of my friends die before their time of obesity. I make it a habit to keep myself thin. If I start to get porky and lethargic I don't eat much and move more until I lose the weight. Simples. -

Jesus that is profoundly sad mate, but take comfort in the fact that you did everything you possibly could for her.

When the doctor comes tell him how you are feeling. I think you are worrying unnecessarily about money. The certificate doesn't cost anywhere near that mate. Life's always worth living even it's it's not as great as when you were younger. There's always something interesting in the day to keep you going. Get out with the dogs into God's cathedral:--the countryside. There's nothing more healing to the mind.

Bloke says to his partner " Why don't you moan and groan when we are making love?" Reply: " Ok Well the electric needs paying and her at the bingo blanked me again. Little Billy needs new shoes and little Sarah has big problems at school. The rent is going up............"

Any woman demanding an orgasm, should, in my opinion, be given a slap.? https://www.theguardian.com/science/2019/sep/30/rabbits-may-hold-key-to-solving-mystery-of-human-female-orgasm

You are one lucky fecker. I would love that set up. You coming back on here has slightly depressed me though. I thought you had escaped THL's clutches for good, a bit like the guy in One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest who escaped the asylum. I was both envying and cheering your escape. I have now come to the conclusion nobody ever really escapes THL .? -
How's your 1/4 deer/grey shaping up HH?

http://www.workingbedlington.co.uk/index.php You should get a good working stud from somebody on the enclosed site. Think they have a Facebook page as well.

This is a historical and a bit off topic but have any of you guys ever experienced a proper 'pea souper'? It was a mixture of fog and industrial pollution in the air. When I was a kid in the fifties we got them regularly. I lived near the biggest industrial estate in Europe ( Trafford Park Manchester) and hundreds of other mills and factories. You could not see your hand in front of your face. It was great for us kids playing out, but it was murder (literally) for anybody who had a dodgy ticker or was a heavy smoker. You would often come across old dockers clinging to lampposts trying to ge

I think that technology exists and is going to be used by my council. Not sure about driving power stations though.

I read recently that a lot of countries are closing down their dirty industries so they can claim they are doing their bit towards reducing their carbon footprint. But all they do is import stuff from the third world or china which have dirtier emissions than we have. So overall carbon production worldwide is increased. Mad.
-
Thing is these are poor inner city kids, they don't count. Nobody gives a toss about the quality of the air they breathe.

Workers at my recycling centre told me just that. That people throw away good tellies because they have a new colour scheme or they want a bigger or a better model.Unbelievable.
-
I was dumping garden rubbish at my recycling centre recently. To see the stuff that people throw away makes me ill. Top of the range furniture, working electrical items ( the guys that work there told me). Carpets, children's toys, scrap which is worth a few quid if weighed it in at a scrappie. It is genuinely obscene. Why councils cannot arrange for decent stuff to be left in a large warehouse so people could take what they want is beyond me.

-I have never liked the human race much. You get occasional acts of heroism but mostly just greed, selfishness, hypocrisy treachery, jealousy and pomposity. We like to think we are so special, above all the other animals, but we are far below most of them. I hope that's cheered you all up folks. You disgusting b*****ds.

As I say I am out of my depth. I am told that there's has always been huge fluctuations in the planet's temperature. I am also told that the planet has warmed very quickly since the industrial revolution and that the cause of this is greenhouse gases. I therefore accept that this rapid warming is going to cause massive problems with rising sea levels and more extreme weather events which will cause untold human suffering. Most scientists accept that we can do something to stop this by reducing greenhouse emissions. I think it would be weird of me, Joe Public, who has no qualifications in clima
