  1. On the contrary, you are the individual who suggested I was being sensationalist...bit bitchy. There are two types of working class oldies who are comfortably off. One pulls up the drawer bridge and says, well If I can make money so can you and has no affiliation with the poor. There's another who says I was dead lucky, there's plenty of my mates who weren't, things are a LOT harder for young people then they once were. Stats show working class people are being squeezed like never before. I think you fit in the former category.
  2. The article shows a kilo of Lurpack for £9.35.at one of the cheaper supermarkets. How do you shop around when you are already shopping at a cut price outlet, have no car and a bunch of hungry kids at home?
  3. I guess the security tags are in impoverished areas of the UK. And there are plenty of deprived areas of the country. It shows how desperate a lot of folk are.
  4. Agree with that. I wonder why friendly, generous Rikki wants the job as chancellor of the UK? To look after his family dosh and to skew the tax and grant system in his family's favour! Simples.
  5. "Tribes" as in Sunak and Javid? Personally I think a brown face or a homosexual as leader of the tories would be suicide for them. It won't happen. They are very much the party of WASPS: white Anglo Saxon protestants. They might have a few token brown and black faces, some openly gay MPs and a few catholics but power lies with the very rich and very powerful, and they are predominantly establishment white.
  6. Dead easy to tame a toad and have it eating from your hand They are very laid back. Frogs don't do well in captivity, too nervous and flighty, in my experience anyway.
  7. Aye, Ive heard them described as border terrorists, and they are often scrappy on the end of a lead. However, how they would perform in the field is a different matter.
  8. I can remember rationing after the war. Never thought I'd see this. I know its a feeble hope, but this article should be top of the government's agenda. Now Lurpak nears a TENNER a pack | Daily Mail Online WWW.DAILYMAIL.CO.UK Shoppers took to social media to share pictures of security tags on £3.99 blocks of Aldi cheddar and £8 lamb chops in a nearby Co-op store in Wolverhampton...
  9. Sorry CP didn't see this thread before I put up a similar thread.
  10. Javid and Sunak have resigned, basically stating they have no confidence in sleazeball Johnston. Wonder which sleazeball with a better act will replace him? May aswell be Starmer for all I care. I'm pissed off with both parties. Now if somebody like Mick Lynch were to seek election on a platform of fair taxation, proper funding for the NHS and social care, better pay, affordable housing and decent pensions for working people it would be a no brainer for me.
  11. Well I've hunted with otterhounds ! So there, aren't I Billy big bollocks! Back in the seventies Dumfriesshire.. It was a good day out, lots of tradition. The huntsmen were well respected in those days. Didn't kill many, but kept a tradition going and men in jobs. I think there are still a few mink packs left and I'm sure some of their hounds will have otter hound blood. Like all hounds, they were/are very easy going, friendly dogs. I've been a lifelong geek when it comes to dogs and dog breeds. I'm forever stopping people and asking what mix is in their dogs. Seen plenty of dandie
  12. We had arranged a riot on the last day. Several teachers were supposed to get hammered. Unfortunately a lot of the lads didn't turn up so we were short on numbers and we chickened out. We did manage a roar and a few expletives at the final bell. and one lad set No fond memories of the crack of leather upon willow I'm afraid.? We were all glad to see the backs of each other. I can only think of one teacher I rated, my English teacher. The rest were orrible, charisma free sadists.
  13. When my generation left school we were reminded that returning to the school grounds was trespassing and the police would be informed. Seriously! No pretend love in those days.
  14. Couple of years back I saw a newly married couple on the other side of the motorway. Their vintage car had broken down. It was winter. She was absolutely drenched, still in her wedding dress. Hope she saw the funny side.
  15. Anything that is a big thing in America, we tend to get ten years later.
  16. I had an estate morris minor in the 70s. Used to use the battery for lamping and if it was flat on my return there was always the hand start..very useful.
  17. She must have been badly behaved to get your own back by taking her in a morris minor. Bit severe and over the top that mate.
  18. As Newkid says. Shitshow from the school. Leaves a bad taste they have to spoil it for the lads. Arseholes.
  19. Trust a scotsman to lower the tone.?
  20. Still waiting for the punch line.
  21. Teddy boy suits back in fashion?
  22. Good looking lad. Must take after his mum.
  23. I think a lot of individuals look better before surgery/ enhancements. These plastic surgeons should be made to prove an op is necessary and not just a fad or a fashion.
