    Had a phone call today asking to clear some rabbits on some small wasteland, not allowed to use the air rifle but the owner says im ok to get rid of them any other way, only problem is the sets will be impossible to get too even in the winter as the cover is horrendous, so ferrets are out, and it would be impossible to extract the bird in the cover, but there are runs all the way around the patch so perfect for snaring So where do you lads buy your snares from? Ive looked about but still not any ideas, obviously quality is important but i dont want my pants being pulled down over the price

    Only ever seen them in static displays i would love to see one fly. I'm gonna be hunting fox with one in a couple of months. The male is 7lb and the female is 14lb flying weights! I thought the male was big! The female must be huge. I think I've dropped quite lucky to see some of the things I'm gonna see over this coming season! In the uk? You are indeed a very lucky man, I wouldnt want to be carrying that on my arm all day though, lol

    Might be a little morbid but if you dont find anybody, reptile shops sell guinea pigs frozen and some might sell rabbits depending on the shop.

    No book is better than a good mentor so try your hardest to get one, maybe volunteer at a falconry centre if theres one near you and you have the time

    Get a mentor best advice there is, read through other threads there was a few a couple of weeks back, spend a season with a falconer before you buy a bird its alot harder than you will think it is, then get a bird, good luck

    Sorry to hijack the thread but i think thats about all of us who contribute to the section lol, hows the moult shaping up, mines got four tail feathers left to drop been feeding him on soley pigeon with verm-x the last two weeks to try encourage him along, when do you recon you lot will be out?

    no bud only flown my male harris and he was parent reared, wont be any time soon enjoy flying the harris too much at the minute and not in a position to put in enough time to two birds, maybe in a few years, pr gos is the next bird for me though, then a spar, then probably finish off with a redtail. Then maybe give the falcon scene a go.
