thanks for that, im going to give that a go saves the hassle of coping might only be a 2 minute job but not having to do it at all would be a better option, thanks
mine was sound at the start then come his first cope he refused it as soon as i showed it him, now he just wants to rip my arm off as soon as i get it out, i had to wrestle him last year to get it on to do his beak ha
anti supporters pal
I know i seen that thread.......thing is theres that or the paki here with nothing else so i'm kinda snookered. I'm not driving away to the next village for a few bits and pieces. It'll not stop me shooting vermin anytime soon mate........
what gun you got
AK47
mine was doing crap to be honest put it down to the weather, started giving her the clover honey and she dropped a few together but still shes a fair bit behind. shes only dropped 4 off her tail but has gone into a crazy body moult in the last few weeks since the weather picked up.
same, for the past two weeks not a days gone bye when he hasnt dropped one
no chance of that, my hawk is a b*****d with the hood, he was fine with it until we coped his beak for the first time with it on then after that he wont let me anywhere near him with one, even now years later, but ye the handheld lure machine looks spot on
BPR`s advocates using a natural fork as a first catty before buying or making a board cut one, obviously theres alot more work and commitment into making a board cut than a natural fork, once youve found the fork and dried it out theres little else to do, wheras a a boardcut catty is being made from scratch and takes more time and imagination something to be more proud of in my honest opinion
well i very much doubt a fishing reel attatched to a drill would put up much of a chase to a goldie ha, i think a quad is a little extreme for my needs
anybody used a lure machine to keep and increase fitness of your birds, ive been looking in to it and like the idea of a few lure flights to increase fitness, im thinking something like this
saves sweating your tits off running up and down like a mad f****r.
great posts lads, not got bushing dogs myself of ever been out for a mooch with the dogs but all these stories make me feel like ive been missing something big-time
hatsan probably not the best then, smk do nice light junior rifles i would definitely only be looking at a junior rifle if he is only 7, the smk xs12 is light, compact, cheap and low powered, enough for rats and close range pests
id suggest a gun with an automatic cocking safety for a new shooter. how old is he, a hatsan mod 55s is a good bet although it is a little weighty it has the automatic safety so theres no chance of any mishaps or pulling the trigger whilst the rifle is half cocked causing major rifle damage
Its a bloody nightmare on this tablet thing cause the smilies dont work so all my posts appear harsh or mater of fact, amazing really how a daft little icon can change the tone of a post
im on a tablet aswell they are a nightmare sometimes, good for quick searches but youve got to have tiny thin fingers to work the fuckers, i think on here its a given to use at least 1 smiley or its like youve done something wrong and insulted somebody ha
i hope thats not a serious question, yes you did miss the mark a pellet to the head would kill them stone dead so you either missed completely or shot it in the wrong place, if these were your first shots on quarry then you will be shaky and perhaps pull the shot, maybe keep practicing.
so you use three different types of ammo and you keep one eye closed but then open it .and then i got lost on the top fork part .
ha ye sorry for that, i use 12mm lead now for hunting but im going to use 9.5mm for pigeons with single theraband, i use marbles for target practise.
i close one eye and aim at the target using the top fork as i hold the catty at 90°, but then before i release the pouch i open the closed eye then release when it feels right. hope that makes better sence, its just a habit that i do and that works for me but obviously wont work for everyone
i know you wasnt bud, just read my post it was abit abrupt didnt mean it to be sorry just typing like ive thought it ha, meant to put a smiley on the end but it didnt load before i clicked post
i still thought the second rule of lamping birds was still in relation to shooting, but yes falconers do however you can get licences to hunt non licenced birds such as blackbirds for a sparrowhawk
