  1. READ THE FECKING POST PROPERLY .
  2. My apologies Bosun ,did not realise until you mentioned it...atb
  3. The reason it was brought into the post BOSSOM,is because that's exactly what its about ''debate''the fact that it has bin mentioned dozens of times about failed earth dogs being the best ratters, well there not.PLUMMERESQUE well that's a new one to me ,never mentioned a Plummer once in that post.however the earth dogs in question were a close friend of mine and i'm sure my dogs would be second rate to his in his chosen sport..ive worked many a dog on many a quarry and this article is about debate but not about comparing anything as a enjoy and respect all work done by all terriers in there cho

  5. obviously you haven't ferreted many rats TIGER ,the working life of a ratting ferret is very short and many loose there lives to the brown rat ,,fact.the dogs i mentioned belong to a good friend of mine and they were made to look second rate against my dogs as no doubt mine would be second rate up against his at earth work.so read my post properly i'm not comparing anything just telling how it is.But all the same atb keith j.
  6. Collie's great CM,she kills as many rats as the terriers, bin flushing bunnie's for the falcons and taking few on the lamp, great all round mooching dog atb.
  7. nobody,s comparing Joe,there's more than one sport to be enjoyed by our terriers, and yes enjoy each sport for what it is ,atb keith j.
  8. foxbolter i'm not going to get pulled in to a debate over how strong a rat is or is not,ive bin working terriers for over 35 years and over twenty on other quarry, so i'll have my opinion and you have yours,so lets not get personal about the dogs we work.Remember were all on the same side here....
  9. Some more from weekend CM ,new permission .Farmer really help full moving bales ect.49 killed not the best pics but a great morning.
  10. Cheers CM ,little bit time to kill couple days of work due to bad weather, thought i'd stick couple pics up of weekend.Yeah dogs are on good form getting some good numbers last couple weeks ,some new permission too, happy days atb keith j.

  12. Loathed by most, loved by a few,an unworthy opponent to some terrier men, yet a more than worthy opponent by others. Some like to kill the odd few now and then, others like myself hunt them on a weekly basis with no closed season . I however find this hard biting little rodent a joy to hunt with my dogs, and as some on hear know i have killed thousands of them over the years. They can and do bite hard especially when killed in number and on a regular basis, and can inflict a bit punishment on our little dogs.I here more than often ratting is for pups,''bollocks'' it is obvious these people haven,
  13. Getting a pretty sad state of affair's really this hunting life, nearly as bad as the countryman's weekly i'd say, plenty of shit about most things but there is some good articles from time to time, take from it what you will.I wonder though is this a pop at Phil Smalley or at the Plummer terrier hoping to start a thread on bull shit that's knocked me to sleep many times.Lot of people had some good days out with mr Smalley taking there dogs out for a bit ratting, can't see anything wrong with that .every one to there own.Although don't know about being a legend, but who cares anyways.LEGENDS now t

  15. Keep up the good work Bill,Pud and team.As always great pics show;s ratting for what it is a fantastic adrenalin fuelled sport whether it be killing five or fifty all to be enjoyed,ATB Keith j.
  16. Nice to see you hard at it WM ,'Wilf' has grown well.I have quite a bit to go at myself come the harvest.Keep up the good work atb Keith j.
  17. Foxdropper WM didn't breed 'Grace' i did mate .WM kindly put me onto a stud dog to go over my bitch 'Jen'.WM has her litter brother 'Wilf'.I totally agree i dislike the free for all way of hunting myself, three or four dogs hanging on one rat while bolting rats flee to freedom dose nothing for myself,on the other hand my dogs mostly kill one dog one rat but on occasions it can't be helped, hence the reason i prefer to hunt on most occasions alone,my dogs have gelled into a good little team doing everything i ask of them.Yes bud it was a big Stoat, young Grace made short work of it . A good pal
  18. Hello again WM hope all is well with yourself and the team. Grace killed her first Stoat today a big male while out mooching.Had killed dozen or so rats in the afternoon before i have a flit round on the night with lamp, when Grace marked an old steel chest on its side, nowt unusual as i nail rats week in from here. This time like others held Jen and Merle back while Grace readied herself [always try and give young Grace as many chances i can too kill herself] lifted chest over Grace ran in and such a commotion was let loose then that unmistakable smell of mustelids filled the air and out came
  19. Best ive seen in a while, not many good Plummers about these days that stamp all seem to be bred for looks, double of his damn like lol.glad all is well bud ,biker eh WM rode them for 25 year up until couple year ago ,what you ride ?
  20. Hello WM hope all is well with yourself and the pack, how is young'' Wilf'' coming on?Grace has grown a lot in last couple month she'll be clocking a hundred or so rats now and still only ten month ,big part of the team now.Bin picking off twenty's and thirty;s on the lamp and bit digging and smoking each week, few rabbit's too. She's taken to water like a duck ,there's some big ponds where i have permission and at times you can't get her out.Got a lot to go at come the harvest there's a lot of rat's out in the fields all to be had in a month or so.stick couple pics up off Grace nice to see coupl
  21. If it's a working Plummer stud your after bud you will have to broaden your horizons and look farther afield,i travelled half way across the country to put the right dog over my bitch. There should be no restrictions on how far you are prepared to travel for the right blood.PM me if you are prepared to travel other wise good luck as you'll need it ATB Keith j.
