Had some good hunts ovet the last couple months..Lot of rats moved on one of the farms I hunt after the harvest. Dogs have been worked every weekend days and nights..Taken on lamp , smoker and dug a lot out .Had over 500 not in big numbers,20 plusses,30 plusses..but regular ..only pics I have is a few after hunt pics taken on phone as I haven't used camera lately. Had some canny nights with collies on rabbits too.atb Keith j

This is my second collie Don,first one I owned was try colour bitch ,still killing rats at 13 ..yet to see a dog kill rats as quick as this bitch,and that's including all my terriers.Only fault if you turned your back she'd be off hunting rats on her own in dark ,you just had to listen for squeals to find her lol.Got load of pics on laptop dig some out when I get time atb keith j

Thanks Pud,they do know there stuff.They work well together,they take rabbit on lamp,ferret,flush for falcons,bush with terriers,and most of all both taken rat in number,exellent all round mooching dogs. Don't think I could be with out one now bud.atb Keith j

Never heard of them being hunted Pud,imagine the wouldn't be as good sport ,as there smaller and less aggressive than there cousins the brown rat.I do believe these where originally a tree dwelling rat,preferring higher places to nest,breed ect.Be nice to hear all the same if anyone has had any experiences with them atb keith j.

Agree with storm boy on above,all the clubs have been guilty of control,only wanting there studs to be used over there chosen bitches so on and so forth. That's how the breed ended up the way it did.However there are a lot of good dogs and bitches owned by decent folk that graft these little dogs ,and have health and work at the for front. As for pups costing this or that it's been done to death,countryman weekly not so long ago £400 for Pat pups so really it's across the scale.But I do believe the pts and PTCGB are working more towards the working side of the breed. The sexual dimorfism was rife at Uropean terrier show a few year ago. Some idiot told me his big dogs were for above and small dogs for below work. However I'll not say who it was "Glen" the horn blowing tossa....

Jonny I visited Legion kennels in December 2010 to pick a Plummer dog and bitch up"Jen"and "Ty".kennels were owned by Sue Rothwell and Tim Green.They took over from Brian's breeding programme. Lot of controversy over this breeding program by a lot of folk. After my Plummer Bitch "Bunty" gave birth to two still born pups I needed to source another pup.
