  1. Some good tales on you experiences of days out,i used to love them swill fed piggery's and rubbish dumps. The bin sheds were always hot spots for these mange ridden scabrous rats .There were three with in walking distance of my home and i couldn't keep away from them.they were filthy sopping hell holes ,my dogs constantly stank of pigs shit, all my ratting gear was ransent and full of holes of battery acid.My ferrets were always bitten up [as we never used smokers in the early days]and would always keep a good hand full of gills. They would always be fed on rats and done very well on them, always
  2. Yes Keith the same chap Ah thoughts so,people like him the breed could certainly do with out
  3. Some workers have been rehomed on the basis of back breeding - yes their pedigree - I had a cracking bitch sent here because she didnt fit into breeding plans - she was great mooching, bushing and had to be held back from entering as she was unproven and its not my sport now - dogs are often sold on from pet homes unvetted - I have even seen five year old dogs advertised for 350 and another 10 yr old bitch - yes TEN YEAR OLD for 350 to a 'good' home only - the breed is so inbred now that anything without a pedigree is not only worthless but a potential life long vet bill - worker to worker stu
  4. Don't think you know what your talking about foxy bolter.so on that note i bid you good day.
  5. FD what click are we talking about here, you make judgement on folk you know nothing about.Iv'e never put to sleep because ive never had too[well not fore being a failure any ways] i'm not a breeder so don't have to worry my little head about surplice pups. And if one of my dogs didn't make the grade it would be re homed,as that dog would of bin with me a couple of seasons before deemed a failure, and would be part of the family,as all my dogs are treat that way. What exactly am i throwing back FD you said quite openly in a previous post saying this site was full of wankers ,know it alls ect,and
  6. ive bin in the terrier game for well over 35 years now and most of that time iv'e kept in a small circle of pals who iv'e done most my hunting with.Always good banta ,way of life i'd say..sharing days out ,talking dogs ,talking more dogs, but never slagging another man's type or what he paid for his ward. Now and then if a litter of pups was bred from worker to worker pups were given to friends, but most of the time dogs would be bought in.NEVER EXPECTED THEM FOR NOTHING,and to be honest who would give a stranger one anyways. So the price would be paid and the rest is down to you.I paid £100 For m
  7. This hunting life is becoming an absolute shambles, bitching over the price of a terrier,if you don't like the price look else where. My pal has just paid over a grand for a French Bulldog for his missus,a hideous brute that i'm sure will be a constant visitor at the local vets because of the faults and breathing difficulties these dogs carry.same goes for most of these fashionable breeds that are f..ked up monstrosity's and cost an arm and a leg.£300 quid in my opinion is a small price to pay for a well reared pup of good breeding which has had the best start in life.Loads of Russells, lakie's a
  8. Fox bolter haven't you gone to bed yet?almost forgot it's the weekend and you've no school tomorrow,You my friend come out with the utmost load of crap I've heard in a long time. 9. FD I also work a collie in my team ,and I wonder if I posted about collies alone 'ratting'!would it create the same controversy?Plummer owners always get singled out on here and given stick. But in all due respect your comments or anybody else's means nothing to me anyways,And if you think sharing a few days hunting Is bigging my dogs up.well that's your opinion. But don't you think THL would be a better place if more people shared there experiences rather than pulling other folks to bits. But all the same FD I wish you well as after all its only the internet and take it for what it is.But I thi
  10. For once 5 feet down I agree with you.Foxy 123 get a grip, comments like, well he did mention earth dogs?for fecks sake get down off your pedestals, grow a pair. Personally I couldn't give a shit what you do with your dog's or how deep you dig your holes, crack on. You and Foxy bolter want to team up think you'll make a cracking pair. And as for bigging plummers up haven't done that in this thread. As it stands there would be no other breed of terriers in my kennels, my choice, like to write a bit more but I'm out ratting ,yes lads killing fecking rats and I love it,so happy surfing guys atb Keith
  11. Couple more pics for the lads who enjoy them, the other;s well who cares any ways .Fox bolter hope you had a good nights sleep, and it's PLUMMER by the way, unless you know of another type?Fireman as always your honest in your posts,no ego..DOG FOX 123 i'm away for few days hunting with my inferior week pack to hunt rattus norvegicus and flush a few bunny for the falcons .thanks for the feed back from all, happy hunting now atb keith j.

  13. Read the post properly bud, what exactly do you mean?run rings round what .A dog brought up as a rat hunter is exactly that. I'm talking about you stating that Earth dogs don't make the best ratters, obviously a dog brought up solely as a ratter is going to perform better than an earth dog. Where did i say that?what i said was my dogs turned a good pair of digging dogs owned by my pal inside out when ratting, and that's fact ,so once again will folk read the posts properly before posting.atb keith What exactly do you mean by turned inside out? Do i have to spell it out to you bud ,sure you kno

  17. What planet you on FB,or more to the fact how old are you?you just seem to babble a load of utter shite.Gather your in bed now ?Mammy tucked you in?hopefully she'll read you a nice bed time story on Peter the rabbit or water ship down as that seems the world you live in.don't be having night mares now about giant rats living in BIG holes with just a Plummer terrier for protection. So i bid you good night and sleep tight FB. However i do look forward to your next post on giant rabbits atb.
  18. Don't come on here my self much either FD,my reason being is its full a know it alls that know nothing, however there are some that know there stuff and it comes across in there post;s.what i know about terrier work would fill a book, what i don't know would fill a library .I will always give an honest opinion and its a pity most others don't.Have to disagree with you on some points though, the level of fitness in my dogs is very high and on many occasions'' ratting'' there fitness has bin tested to the full and they do need a degree of toughness when killing in number. I'm not talking about eart
  19. Think your missing the point ,lot of terriers will go to ground not a lot will make the grade,i'm not new to terrier work and no exactly what's required of different dogs for different jobs,my post was ratting terriers, and my opinion as and what i require ,atb keith j.
  20. Well said shovel,we do strive to get the best terriers for the job in hand ,i agree most terriers will have pop at rats and most will kill, are they ratting terriers ?well not in my opinion .ive seen plenty terriers jib at rats after receiving a few bites .How many different types of dogs go to ground and flush foxes, are these earth dogs ?well i think not.my point being a good ratting terrier needs a lot of stamina a damn god nose as rats tend to frequent some of the most filthy hell holes known to man,and a degree of toughness, yes toughness,as one or two rats may be nothing to a dog when getti
