  1. Or find a stick or dog. A length of bramble works to see what fur is down there too. I really don't like sticking my hand down holes and most of the time i have a glove with me, useful for nettles, brambles, rats and pissed off ferrets.
  2. Feck me wheres his coat???

  5. Did the tube go further than ferret length? Is the ferret any good? Sometimes ye get a ferret that knows when a holes empty so won't bother going down it? I've had it in the past when the ferrets only gone in so far and its tail was all fluffed up so we let the dogs have a dig (this was 8 years ago when my terrier was a pup) and it turned out to be a rabbit that was side on and wedged tight in the tube that the ferret couldn't shift.
  6. I think you'll find you do  The mythical curvy bird loving man which you seek is what is more commonly reffered too as a Northerner, their like worzels round your way aren't they Gnipper

  11. 2" mesh fanfookintastic i've got loads of it knocking around. Obvious too when you think about it Cheers, gnipper
  12. I'd pushed bits of bamboo in the font of the tunnel to block out unwanteds but the little sod had shoved them out the way . Im gonna make some wire narrowers and nail them onto the front of the tunnels
  13. That's the bit generally known as the " Tiller Hook ", mate. I have one of those chink shit jobs gathering dust behind this work station. It's there because I threw it there, in disgust and contempt, when I took it out of it's package and the bloody Tiller fell off in my hands. It did so because the bloody things are just punched in. Crap materials and crap manufacture. Crap. Little tip for ye; If ye look on the Bay for Fenn Traps, run a search for John Dee Humane Traps. Believe me, there's no love lost between myself and that outfit. But they DO supply only Genuine Fenn Traps, direct fro
  14. Are things like these legal? Not sure how they work but they look useful and does away with the tunnel. http://www.wildlifecontrolsupplies.com/Mer...ry_Code=NWS00T3 Gnipper
  15. I didn't want the cheap ones mate I was pissed off when I opened the box but needed to shift some rats so they got used. The Springer/Fenns are much better.
  16. I've got a few bodygrippers ordered so does anyone fancy putting up a step by step picture post on setting/using them for me? Cheers, gnipper
  17. I bought 4 of them cheap ones off ebay that were sold to me as Fenns so wasn't too happy. The plates stick up too high on them imo and one of them the catch that the brass bit goes into is wonky and nearly caught me the first time i tried setting it but I hate to say it the buggers work.
  18. I put them in the middle mate. The tunnel can look like anything you want, I have some tunnels I made out of planks that are the exact dimensions for a trap to fit in set and fired that are about 18"-2ft in length which work well round sheds etc. In the woods etc you can use the same things but disguise them or make a tunnel out of logs or stones etc or just use a natural burrow but its more awkward. Some of the lads on here use wire tunnels on rat runs that i've seen. I always set the trap flush with the soil level and sprinkle some fine soil over the top of it (while the safety is on) alth
  19. I shot 25 in about an hour and a half the other week, i'm not even gonna bother with the maths but thats a pretty good hourly rate at £8 each. The butchers only give us £1-2 for the middle bit
  20. If you want i'll come and shoot a load for you so you can hear it with 3inch shells
  21. Could you not just take them somewhere where there are...........Rabbits???? Save yourself quite a bit of cash too.
  22. When i was a kid i had one die who seemed fine after a run in with the terrier so i didn't take him the vets and i think he had internal injuries. His guts inflated over a period of about a week and then snuffed it and i don't think he passed any solids
  23. It might look funny but I bet the little buggers effective when your not wearing a sleeve I wouldn't want it ragging my forearm anyway
  24. Sent you a PM Lb
