Can you not put the mules under the hen with the duff eggs mate? It's surprising what you can get away with moving stuff around under hens when you need to. I put chicks under a hen that had only been sat a week and them eggs under the hen that had hatched the others and she sat again for the remaining time and hatched the second eggs.

I bought myself a maver abyss 9.5m pole today, cheap and cheerful and does the job. Took it for a test tonight and had a few nice fish on it but think I need a stronger elastic in as it took an age to land carp at about 6lb, the bailiff recommends an 18 elastic for in there. I'll get the hang of this pole fishing lark, cupping a few pellets in directly over your hook certainly works a treat.

Just been given a 6m telescopic whip off my mate and I'm after rigging it up with elastic, I'll mainly be using it for roach etc but there's a chance of a carp to say 5lb or maybe the odd tench so would like it to be able to handle that. I'm more a rod and reel kind of guy but got a couple of places in mind for this where a rod isn't practical due to overhanging trees and another spot where its gonna be easier to collapse it and go if someone turns up Cheers, gnipper

When I was a kid I came home from school and the cat was staring at summat out the window so I looked outside and there was a hare in the middle of the lawn without a care in the world, when I went out it jumped next doors low wall and through a gap in there side fence which was the end of a garden on the main road, I went round the corner to see if it had come out and there's an old bloke weeding his flower beds so I asked if he'd seen it and as I asked it jumped up out of his rough garden and fecked off up the main road. Found it splattered the next day -

He preferred fixing em than dropping em though mate. We had a bloke come to our place doing the spraying tests and he was the lad that Fred nearly drowned on the canal in a boat made of wheels and a tarpaulin I read about in the book. He was telling us loads of stories and I could have sat all day talking to him.

Try growing and training some up to that size and you'll see why mate, thought about doing a load myself as a bit of a profitable hobby but can't be arsed. I've already pruned thousands of trees this summer so not doing it when I get home

I got a hawthorn right in the end of my finger which infected my whole arm even after I'd dug it out with the trusty opinel so had to go to hospital and the doctor couldn't believe I'd been digging around in there with a knife and seemed squeemish about it, not sure why though when they did the same with a scalpel half hour later
