Anyone noticed a change in the actual ferrets appearance over the years? I'm not as old as some lads on here but when I was younger and all ferrets worked there was some ugly buggers about and now there's loads of fluffy smart looking ferrets about. The old keeper I got them ferrets off had a definite strain and they weren't the best looking of things but they were belters underground.

Too many have bred from none working lines,because of needs for different colors and sizes.. Thats the reason i did not breed any myself this year.. I re homed all my gills at the end of last season and this year we have brought in 3 batches of kits and 2 adult gills. The only ferrets I kept after the last season was 2 good hobs. By the end of this season I would like to have at least 1 good gill,hopefully 2.. and 4 Rock solid hobs.. Fingers crossed. It sounds like you're after the type of ferrets that the spade shy rehome mate.

The white jill I had was marked up like a terrier it had been nipped that many times but she went back again and again and loved a good scrap. All 3 of those ferrets i mentioned arelong gone now but I'd love them back today and I would breed the two off the old keeper together and keep them all.

Depends what you feed them as pups. Mine had a good quality greyhound feed and raw as a pup so I just kept it the same but reduced the amount of feeds.

I've had 3 really good ferrets over the years, 2 were off an old guy in his 80s who used to be the local gamekeeper who had the strain for donkeys years and one was off a guy who hardly ever worked his but the jill was a cracker and was brilliant at ratting.

I don't know tbh mate I got given the seedlings as just plum tomatoes, the round ones are money maker and I've got 2 unknown types of cherry ones. The kids are eating them like sweets and my soup was bloody good too.

I bet there's been a few lads done now because of trail cams etc. One of the farms I know of got them because of fly tippers in the gateways.

I know a few farms near me with them hidden cameras and it certainly makes you think twice about going for a little wander somewhere you shouldn't be.
