    I'd never really noticed alder beetles until a couple of years ago when we had a plague of them on the alder hedges on one of our sites. I've seen a few since but nothing like that first year.

    It's a bit like that round here, why is it not 5 or 6 babies though? In the past you'd see litters of younguns sat outside the warren?

    Plenty of hares around and more deer than there has ever been but the rabbits are still struggling. The past couple of years they seem to be trying to recover but they don't seem to be breeding like rabbits and replenishing their numbers.

    Me and a mate imported some over here about 15 years ago now. I've got a nice one in the tank now but he's a different animal to them performance bred ones.

    Planted these this afternoon to finish the day off for the last hour. It's getting to the end of our silly season now so gotta get a load of odd jobs like this finished quickly before I start my summer jobs.

    I push a peanut onto the spike of a little nipper and they seem to do the job ok.

    Me and my brother are similar in one way probably from our upbringing but I prefer the outdoors and animals and he prefers computers and engines. My sister is the one that's different

    What do you use for the layers in the curry one? Lasagne sheets? I've made it a few different ways now but it's easiest just getting one of the kits that comes with it's own wraps and rather than mess around rolling them up or frying as quesadila etc just chuck em in as lasagne. Let the missus do it once and she used the square lasagne dish with the round wraps I made a full English lasagne once too.
