  4. theres a big difference between pics of litters of pups and lots of litters of pups advertised for sale i dont see any of those how do you know the fella isnt breeding the pups for himself and friends not everyones in it purely for the money
  5. when i first started watching this I thought it was a tame deer and a dog that were pals having a swim together
  6. try lots of different small objects a crumpled bit of paper or even a toilet roll tube works just as well. smelly socks work better than clean ones if the pup doesnt show an interest put a bit of string round it and make hissing noises and drag it about til the pup mouths it the way you would play with a kitten with a bit of string sooner or later itl catch on
  7. my philosophy on dogs is get them fit, get them out and get them on. if a dogs not carrying any injuries that are preventing it from running its best or striking then you have to accept its something thats going on in the dogs mind thats causing it to hold back or not strike. not working the dog might make it keener for a short spell but il bet money as soon as you start grafting it again regularly it will fall back into whatever pattern suits it best. lots of work is the best way to suss out a dogs style it sounds to me like the bitch prefers coursing it does happen i heard of a dog years bac
  8. first thing to rule out is injury has she had any recently? get her checked over by a greyhound boneman or someone who knows their stuff if theres no niggling problems its amazing how dogs can hide injuries in their necks backs etc they cant tell you somethigs up so its down to you to to pick up on signs shes sore or not her usual self if theres nothing found injusry wise then its something in the dogs head a psychological issue for example some coursing dogs prefer to work a hare knowing they have more time to run their prey down whereas rabbits are short distance sprinters if the dog doesnt
  9. the bother with gsd is getting a good working one that isnt bred from show crap with bad hips seen a lot trailing their back legs around behind them shocking when you see pics of the german dogs that first came into this country
