  1. Hmr fella, not a bad little vermin round. The pigeon was 140 odd yards paced.
  2. They are great for rats, I've shot loads down an old privately owned disused railway cutting by just sitting on the opposite bank and shooting them as they come down the bank into the cutting. They are just so quiet and cause no disturbance at all.
  3. .177 at sub makes it easier than .22
  4. Squirrels are coming in now. I'm hoping for some good sport on them this autumn.
  5. They're about the same price as normal subs and accurate enough out to 30ish yards for head shot rabbits. The Remington cbee hollowpoints are better, more accurate and well over 40 ft lbs. I haven't got any of those left though, just using up a few cb caps.
  6. Just a steady drive down the hedgerows I had my little .22 carbine. Using reduced velocity .22 longs, I dropped a three quarter grown rabbit and a pigeon within a couple of minutes, both will be going in the pot. These little rounds run at a tad over 30 ft lbs with a 29 grain bullet and are ideal for shortish range shots along the hedgerows. Virtually silent as well.
  7. First time out with the rapid for a while but managed a good shot on a woody anyway. I could just see him and I had to work out the best route to thread my pellet through the branches for a clean kill. I was pleased with my successful attempt as I was a tricky shot.
  8. Well done, you should've tried the squirrel, they taste better than rabbit and pigeon I reckon. You threw the tastiest one away,lol.......
  9. I assume it will be a used one?not many new ones left in the shops now. As a tool, they're very good and so easy to strip and service. A lot of them have been messed with though as they were so easy to increase the power on. A friend changed the seals on mine and I was amazed that he just stripped it, fitted new seals a put it all back together on the coffee table in front of me while I sat there drinking the cup of tea he had just made me. High shot count and very accurate too. I like 'em but they're never going to look or handle as good as a huntsman that's for sure. I fitted a dr bob quick
  10. One thing about rapids, so simple to service although not the best looking air rifles in the world.
  11. Good sport for you plum. Get some more shot and do us a write up with some pics fella.
  12. Get ready let'sshoot, you will get shards of bullet in the rabbit with ballistic tip bullets. I've even hit them side on head shots and found shards of bullet in the back legs. Sometimes they do,sometimes they don't, they're unpredictable.
  13. I found the cci TNT's to be just as accurate and they were fast over the chrono 2660 fps from my rifle. I never bought any more though. I prefer the ballistic tips. I keep a few 20 grain hollow point .17's but don't use them often.
  14. It's a mk4 fenn trap, the loop has broken off. Never mind,I've got fingers of steel. Just like little pistons according to mrs rimfire,lol.......
  15. Squirrels are delicious to eat, I love 'em....take a bit of skinning though, until you get the knack of it.
  16. Lifted the box to find these two. Double suicide.....
  17. The squirrels are back. Looking forward to spending some time with them this autumn....lots of oaks on this land.
  18. Spotted two out foraging, shot one from the truck with the .17 and there was no exit hole, just exploded its insides. Plenty about but I didn't have time to spend waiting today.
