Prepping is not all about a potential War, it can be for power cuts, water shortages, redundancy etc. Its amazing how many people eat from day today and have next to nothing in their cupboards or fridge and no other source of electricity, heating or even lighting. I've always made sure we as a family have enough food, water and essentials (gas & power) for at least 4 weeks. I don't consider it to be prepping as such just sensible precautions. Its estimated 3 days of no power in this country and civil unrest will be on our streets.

Not going to be a issue to 95% of the population anyway if you look at this list of health reasons not to be conscripted. Dental care made me laugh considering you cant even visit the dentist unless your a millionaire in the UK and dont even get me started on anxiety and depression. UK conscription: The health conditions that would make you exempt from serving in the Army (msn.com)

There are some pretty damning vids popping up on youtube from ex service men that are commenting on how poorly they have been treated since leaving the service and how they would never re enlist. With regard your comments on the poppy another shocking thing is the RBL have over 70 million quid in their account at anyone time just imagine how many ex-service personnel and their families that could help?

I would rather die fighting to stop my boys going to war than send them to die for a country that has shafted me and them at every turn. UK public warned of military call-up if country goes to war - 'NOW you want my toxic masculinity?!' (youtube.com) Wonder if this plane going down in Ukraine will be the catalyst ?

I think if there is a war (god forbid) our government whoever it will be will be in for a bit of a shock when it comes to patriotism and the good old British resolve, that was knocked out of us all 20 odd years ago.

Agree 100% but what boils my piss is outsourcing it, badging it up, selling it for a 150%+ profit and then moaning you don't buy British. We then start bomb some shitty little country because supply lines are a little disrupted, Its more treacherous than the Chinese IMO.

I agree Dyson are a prime example of R&D, designed in Britain but manufactured in Singapore so personally I no longer consider it a British product. But we have to accept making it is the part of the process that creates the most revenue and we are outsourcing it for greed and in turn becoming heavily reliant on countries like China whilst removing our abilities to manufacture our own goods, which was my point.

Not being pedantic but I did actually say "most UK companies" and that is the case Im afraid. Take a look around you, you would struggle to find one item that is entirely UK made. Even if it was produced in the UK the likely hood is the materials, machinery or parts used in the process come from abroad. The mark ups being charged are ridiculous, as a example I very rarely go into my local fishing tackle shop now and purchase end tackle. The products may well be designed in the UK but they are manufactured in China and then rebranded (some cant even be bothered to rebrand) and "carp tax" i

Nothing will change, most of the uk companies knocking out stuff just buy it from China rebadge it and put a massive mark up on it screwing us the consumer. Lets be honest even "British made" products probably use machinery manufactured else where or the materials produced in some far off land. I'm sat here in my office with a lap top made in China, parts manufactured in the Philippines, mobile made in China and desk designed in Sweden but yep you've guessed it made in China christ even the paper clips are made in China. Google every day products around you its a eye opener.

Moved from Bristol 3 years ago but still travel up for work cant stand the place or what its come, the best areas are the "slums" now still managed to keep a tiny bit of tradition and community. Always had a soft spot for Moyes he was rumoured to have applied to manage us before he went to PNE . 1986 FRT best day out (weekend) of my life

Bit of a scrappy game we havent had a edge about us for years now so hopefully Manning has added that bit. Joe Williams MOM for me gave us that "in your face" play that was needed, dont think Benrahma staying on would have helped you. Watch us mess it up against Forest/Blackpool, its what we do.

Listening earlier to a podcast where the bloke being interviewed said by 2050 the UK will be a Islamic nation and we Brits aren't particularly pro-active and wait until things are at there worst before we act, so your last sentence is depressingly true.

They are all self funded now, that's why if you get a visit from the HSE they will always find a non compliance and issue a improvement letter charging for it. The EA just upgraded their permits adding extra "best available techniques" (BAT21). No problem you think, good they are on the case and getting to the route of pollution. You then get a bill for 3k pop through the post, you haven't asked for it and it probably wont make a jot of difference to the environment just another way to squeeze a bit more out of you.

I work in a industry where we have 4 regulatory bodies monitoring us VOSA, Environment Agency, the local water regulator and HSE, compliance is a nightmare. We had a HSE visit a few weeks back I've had to put signs up by the sinks telling the blokes how to wash their hands and provide them all with individual nail brushes, we got a improvement notice for that and were charged £700 for the privilege. Funny thing is when I pull the blokes on each job missed or each unnecessary diversion taken and now making sure they wash their hands properly Im the Shite Hawk, but at the end of the day its

You seen the new trucks mate ? Microwaves, kettles, HD TV's, climate control, all mod cons. We have trackers fitted and Im one of those shite hawks its all a bit of swings and roundabouts if the guys don't put in a shift (and there are strict rules, working time, drivers hours etc to stop them being overworked) then we lose the contract and in turn someone has to lose their job. We have some brilliant drivers and some that don't turn in, take avoidable detours, and sometimes simply refuse to do jobs and they are putting mine and the other drivers jobs in jeopardy, so Im comfortable trac

Worked with a Iranian lad for a while when I was younger, he said he was a "moderate" Muslim and drank like a fish and was off his nut every weekend on coke. Always used to ask him if he missed living in a mud hut with his goats. He used to reply, "I keep telling you I lived with my parents in a brick house and have only ever seen a goat at the market". Apart from a white South African I worked with he was the most racist person I have met, hated Iraqis and Pakistanis with a vengeance and funny enough benefit scroungers!
