  1. I agree we should be asking why do we need a breakfast club in the first place. Also why the parents aren't taking responsibility for feeding their children as I cant believe even the poorest of parents cant afford a bag of porridge oats (1ltr 90p) and 5 bananas (72p) to feed their kids a breakfast every day for the week. I think the chaps point on the TV was its the easiest option and a lifestyle choice and its hard to argue against that in my opinion. Now if we are to give benefits to the needy lets go back to the old way, milk tokens, food vouchers, clothes vouchers the essenti
  2. We are all different all want different things and have different standards, boils my piss when the bloke next door cuts the grass but wont tidy up the edges but that's his standard, who's to say I'm right and he's wrong? The issue starts for me if his actions start impacting on my way of life (other than boiling my piss) and that's exasperated when you feel your also paying for this lifestyle that conflicts with yours.
  3. You lived on a estate mate, like me you worked hard and got where you want to be today. Others work hard, prefer to stay in the area they grew up in and are happy with their lot until someone comes along and brings that area down and they may not have the ability or finances to move on. Don't think that's jealously, more disdain, confusion and frustration.
  4. I get what your saying mate but life throws us all a different hand, yours has worked out for you for others it don't how ever hard they try and thats when it leaves a bitter taste. You may go around to the local crack heads house burn the house down or put a hammer in their face, it may work, they move out and a nice family move in. Or you end up killing them doing time and whilst your in nick they move in a family of 14 Somalia's and their goat. Same actions different outcome. The way I see it hard work, pride and a massive chunk of luck and you may be ok if it dont you can take co
  5. Its a sit back and let some one else deal with the problem society, Kelvin Mackenzie gets it right here. 'DISGRACEFUL!': Kelvin Mackenzie EXPLODES at Starmer's FREE breakfast club plan in general election - YouTube
  6. Its not just smack heads, there seems to be this mindset in general that if you rent, private or council, you don't have to even keep your windows clean or cut your grass. Prides gone out of the country and its got nothing to do with money. It costs bugger all to wipe your windows down with a rag when there's a bit of condensation on them. My grandparents had bugger all but Nan would wash her step down and brasso the door lock once a week, shitty old wooden sash windows not fancy upvc but were always kept immaculate.
  7. I know there is a lot of jest and tongue in cheek humour in some of these posts but I am increasingly seeing really mild mannered compassionate people expressing more and more what could be considered extreme views. Think it was Wilf who said how brutal and inhumane the most normal person can be when there backed into a corner and feel they have no other option. Cant see any middle ground for this issue now its going to go one of two ways and either aint pretty!

I've had this discussion on here before, the thing is most of the stuff in UK shops is purchased from China its just rebranded and sold at x10 plus £. Watch the "independent traders" on ebay slowly drop off as people catch wind they have been buying in bulk adding a mark up and selling on at a profit and nobody bats a eye lid as they put a union jack on their advert and claim they are a "UK trader". Unless we bring manufacturing back to the UK and stop screwing over the consumer TEMU and sites similar will be the only place to buy stuff before long.

And if not delivered in the time frame stated they automatically give you a £5 credit. Get most of my terminal fishing tackle from there now as its the same quality but more than half the price. Word of caution gets addictive things keep popping up for stupid money to add to the cart, all those 50p's soon add up
  11. Burton Springs - Fishing Holidays and Camping in Somerset Its near Hinkley Point mate, they go to over 80lb+ can hire out the cabins which have electric, heater, TV etc if thats your thing. I bought 3 cat fish rods, 50" net for the trip and blanked so if you decide to give it a go give me a shout as your more than welcome to borrow the rods and net as you will be passing me on the way there
  12. Difficult one to agree with you on this as I have one son who still lives with us, gives us a peppercorn rent and has saved his entire working life. He now has enough to buy a small house outright but chooses to live with us as its easier. The other is married with 2 kids and is on the rental market which is partly their choice as the government fund the rent with benefits. They dont want a mortgage as it would impact on the benefits and in turn mean they would have to curb their current lifestyle. Financially they are better off than we were at their age and the advancement of tech has
  13. Had a lake booked out for 4 of us end of last month for 48hrs my mate fell on the fish having a 29lb grassie and three cats 22lb, 47lb and the biggest 68lb
  14. Got one in Avonmouth Bristol goes off on the 3rd of every month @ 3pm its for a emergency on the docks but can be heard for miles around.
  15. 70's/80's for me but it wasn't easy and in all fairness as kids there was no money we made our own entertainment which seems to be a lost trait with the youngsters of today. Seems to be a real hate on for anyone in the 55+ bracket from youngsters at the moment, heard some pretty nasty vitriol on podcasts etc.
  16. Andrew Bridgen already saying we are at war with Russia and Rishi has brought the GE forward so he's not in charge when its officially announced. National service, preparedness message from the government, emergency alarms tested on phones, NATO "training" on the Russian border etc. Bridgen is a bit "out there" but he's not like the rest of the sheep in government so who knows.
  17. Its crazy to think 2.5 days to go from car to class 1, 1 day reversing, 1 day driver training, half day test. Obviously have to do your theory first, which judging by our drivers appears to be the hardest part 100% pass rate with our lot on the driving though.

Just passed this in Umberleigh North Devon, couldnt stop but did a google search and found it as I was gutted I didnt get a picture. Passing today looked like somebody had thrown red paint over it but stunning all the same.
  19. Blood test now apparently but dont even try the doctors even though the advert on the TV says all men over 50 should get tested the gestapo on the reception wont book a appointment unless you got blood in your piss! Interesting about the nettle tea, I've reverted to being 8 years old and don't drink any liquids after 7pm still getting up once or twice in the night though........dropped off the cliff when I hit 50.
  20. It is mate a 10 minute walk from my house, I reckon there's only 10/15 carp place is a shit hole really. I spent 2 weeks baiting and cleaning a spot every evening a while back the day before I was due to fish it some little scrotes lobbed 2 shopping trolleys right on my spot I have 3 other tickets but keep getting drawn back there. I pick a bag of rubbish and dog shit bags up each time I go, annoying part is there are bins dotted around the place but its free fishing so I give a little back that way.
  21. No mate pond off the back of a38 have to battle the druggies drunks and shopping trolleys but there’s something about it keeps me wanting to fish it. Walrows had some investment lately cracking venue now doing 30’s every week and cheap as chips just had a knarly looking 16lber

  23. Holiday Inn one of the corporate hotel chains taking them owned by IHG group, Ive already wrote to them and advised I will never use them again.
  24. Funny you mention that St Johns lane near the centre was called Kebab alley by the locals when we moved in its now had its name changed to flip flop alley. We moved there a little over 3 years its changed massively in that short period of time we are right on the outskirts so we only notice it when we venture into the town. Thanks mate appreciate the thought. We just got the house to where we want it and now we may have to have them move in, like you though I wouldn't have it any other way.
