Sheep Killers.. Shoot Them Or School Them
roybo replied to Landrace's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
my bitch has always been fairly steady with sheep ,although one time while hunting up in the day there was one the wrong side of a fence in a spinney, caught up in bramble. the lads lab and springer ,and my lurcher and terrier all piled in ,but my bitch had lost it, and wanted to carry on. so yes they can be safe and then turn especially if sheep aren't the norm. I asked my mate to shoot her as i was gutted but he would'nt, glad i didn't,and although i never trusted 100%, she never done it again ,although i was able to read the signs if they was about. so no i'd try and r -
I don't doubt it will be durable ,just whether it suits you, I like mine ,dodger doesn't.......... maybe worth pming him to see if he wants to sell save you the time and postage

Also I wouldn't trust the say so of someone over the other side of an ocean, game dog breeders/sellers are notoriously liberal with the truth regarding pedigrees of dogs particularly when there's someone got money to to spend

As Johnny muddler said ,I think, for the most part ,there isn't any real need to add any pure breeds, any more, there should be enough quality lurchers about now,so with(maybe) the exception of a sighthound I don't see the need to add any bull, anymore, the lurchers with bull in there should do what you want or else don't breed from them. Just my opinion

well if if you breed a or 90lb or even 100lb coursing greyhound to a 50 or 60 lb bull and keep keeping the biggest you could end up with all the height and length of a greyhound and build and muscle of a bull something I would want but there's the reason behind it,my britches sister was 29 inch and racy out of a 1/2 cross and a 1/4 bred bitch so there's lots of permutations when breeding different types of dogs when you put it like that i suppose it could happen, it'd be nice to think that somewhere out there are lines of bull x that are athletic, not too big , say 75lbs and still able t

Used to go to few 'bull breed' shows in the late 80s early 90s before American bulldogs and cross breeds where about ,there was a few real ones there but also mix of agility/weight pull dogs Amazing there wasn't many red nose,or old familyred or what ever then but since the ban there's 100s go figure

The reason bull crosses are bigger is well if if you breed a or 90lb or even 100lb coursing greyhound to a 50 or 60 lb bull and keep keeping the biggest you could end up with all the height and length of a greyhound and build and muscle of a bull something I would want but there's the reason behind it,my britches sister was 29 inch and racy out of a 1/2 cross and a 1/4 bred bitch so there's lots of permutations when breeding different types of dogs

If you've seen a Beddy X do the same graft as a Bull X then your graft is different to mine... my beddy x could graft did the same as my palls bull x and that was a handy one gaffer behave yourself gaffer, serious question, and no offence meant, why put it to a bull cross then ,if I had a dog doing all that a bull cross could do but was quick as you say he was why the need to add bull blood?
-
Really dodge I didn't mind the spill,I put it on low to spot ,then notch it up, I don't think from someones looking from a car they'd notice much difference, but I suppose they take some.getting used to ? I'm sure you'd get your money back, off someone on here,as that would save them a few quid that sending off for one

If you say a striker is a 6 I'd definitely give this a 7 . But add the fact it goes in the pocket, has no lead, don't have to carry a bag ,and being adjustable its got to be worth an 8,the beam will take getting used to not any worse, just different To what I'm used to
