Cut back the mrs and kids on to cheaper grub then put the dog on the very best of feeding. 90% breeding and 10% feeding but that 10% is an important margin.

problem is they will be riddled with mites and draw rats better than the pied piper

Buying Food For Feeding 2 Small Ponds. Does The Pond Need Clearing?
jiggy replied to Hchipper's topic in Wildfowling
I wouldn't be eating them ducks if there's sewage nearby. The carcasses will be stinking and it goes through their pores into the flesh. Stagnant ponds and drains with effluent running into them from silage pits are the same. It's hard to beat ducks from fresh water. I wouldn't completely clear pond as the ducks like a bit of cover. -

Had a very good dog a few year back, dead now[Rusty]very hard dog at his work and took no prisoners,he was 3/4 lakie1/4 wheaten, actually have a grandson of his here at the moment.that might be just what's needed to spice up a breeding that's softening off or to bring up the size in small dogs. Again if operating a tight line that's performing nobody would do it but if it's scatter bred then why not? The 2nd generation should conform to size.

Is RHD a type of flu and triggered by cold weather? I notice areas where the population growth booms in summer to replace lost numbers and then as soon as winter starts they virtually vanish to only see an odd rabbit or 2 about.

Did any lads get much success crossing wheatens with digging dogs. I don't think I've ever seen a first cross or 3/4 black dog 1/4 wheaten for example. I know if the digging dog breeding is right then the cross is unnecessary but still a few of the old boys probably experimented with them.

I believe there are special 'gentlemans clubs' for those who have a inkling for 8st weaklings with meaty thighs......well, you say "thighs" ?

Why pick a tough guy? You might have to kill and eat them if you are left too long. Id pick an 8 stone weakling with meaty thighs.?

they ain't kid killers, their just dog killers I wouldn't trust a wheaten around a child, unless in the last few years they've changed.i wouldn't trust any breed with a small child but I've seen wheatens and there crosses that were excellent with kids. I know there is human aggressive ones maybe that's just the particular lines they came from with that trait but that type to me is an accident waiting to happen and those dogs should be culled regardless of ability. Gates will be left open accidentally from time to time and even one child's life would be too much to lose for all the wheatens

Thats a fine example of a wheaten. There is some working wheatens about still, big lumps of dogs 45 pound plus in weight. I wonder are these dogs of today a lot bigger than the dogs of the early trialing days. I'd imagine they would struggle to travel a 9 inch pipe/tunnel even though they don't have to as trialling is finished now. It would be interesting to hear some of the working weights of the old dogs. I'm guessing they would of been nearer to 35 pounds.

The point is a billion dollar company like Samsung is struggling to get it right so how bad are the small companies taking shortcuts and that will run and hide if anything happens. You might have some chance getting compensated by a large company and you will find they have a little bit more quality control and have a team of researchers problem solving and there is a lesser chance of burning your kids in their beds whilst it's charging at night. The lamps are fair enough it doesn't matter if they are cheaply made but those 20 amp lithium batteries pack a serious punch if badly designed. Just -
