There's a lot to be said for a simple natural life. The older I'm getting the more I've realised that's all I want.

Water and coffee , drank far too ofter the last 10 years and its became a daily bad habit. Few cans every night with the occasional piss up. Decided its time for a break. Day 17 and the cravings have just about subsided......I think. The temptation is still there.

My thoughts exactly mate. I toyed with the idea of open kennels but decided against it because of the noise and also wanting to store a few valuables inside like tools, collars and the kids bikes etc. Not to mention the dogs . I know anything can be broken in to but it's definitely more difficult with an enclosed Kennel and the cctv that alerts your phone can only help. I also find the fan running helps the terriers stop being so reactive to people walking by etc. As they can't hear everything that goes by.

These are the kennels I built in spring/early summer this year. The first proper block I've built. Did everything bar the render myself. Took probably 6 weeks of evenings and weekends doing a bit when I got 5 minutes spare to get the bulk of it done and then I've just added to it as and when I've needed things. I only originally planned to build enough kennels for 3 dogs and I'd use the rest as a shed. 6 months on I'm up to 6 and out of room so looking to move. From memory it's 4850 x 3250, sloping concrete floors in two directions to run to the L shaped channel drain at the back

My old saluki bull grey x my old saluki bedlington grey bitch, 8 years old now, probably about 3 on those photos. Now lives retired with my parents. The pup is about 9 months old, a 5th gen mix of mainly wheaton x bull x greyhound (not my breeding). Both parents doing the work and made just over 27" so fingers crossed for this pup.

Got out one day this week for a mooch, checked a few spots and nothing home, tried a place new to me on recommendation from the farmer. Steady walk to the place and all dogs marking well, looked promising. I dropped an older dog in that I've got on loan. 10 mins later he's baying away strong. Got a mark at .8, 1ft off breaking through and the mark changed. Opened out anyway and found they were big tubes. Let the dog work for another hour or so, he was getting pushed back and forth but eventually settles at roughly 2m and I believe he's at a stop end. Decided to start digging

Couple of blue drums I use for the terriers. I had them laying around, they do the job. Easy enough to clean out.- 56 replies
