  1. Some very interesting posts on here ad also some very funny ones.? Back to the original post. Snakes are not loyal to their owners. But they can get desensitised to smells which are around them all the time. So they effectively think of their hsndler as just part of their environment if they are touched and exposed to the hsndker enough. I have a friend in America who keeps lots of reptlies and he feeds live rats at times (illegal in uk). He said quite often if the snake doesn't eat the rat in the first instance he used to leave it in the tank but soon realised that they simply wouldn't ge

well I think if you want to go and live in another country you should try to join in with as much local activity as possible, ????
  3. Dogs are descended from wolves. Full stop. But there are complications regarding which dna markers you assess which has led to some confusion. There may be African wolf Indian wolf or any of the northern european/Asian wolf subspecies. There may even be some golden jackal dna in domestic dogs. For me, I believe the original basenji type domestic dogs came from African wolves and as man spread these dogs went with him and bred with the local wolves as they travelled. Now to complicate things. The gene which causes black wolves is only found in dogs not on other wolf races or types. It is su
  4. There was a remake of the dambusters a few years ago. They changed the dogs name to digger even though one of the crew had actually owned a dog called nigger. Offensive or not people shouldn't be allowed to rewrite factual his story to suit their own agenda. And as for foreign tv presenters even the white ones all have bloody northern or Welsh accents these days. Ridiculous . I can't even understand them
  5. You are wrong wilf. It will beat Samuel Jackson as Cromwell himself
  6. Apparently so. But to be honest wolves in Europe are never going to be hunted so it is only a matter of time until they start to become dangerous. Look what is happening in other parts of the world. India. Russia. Even a couple of wolf kills in North America. Shooting those hybrids would be good news for everyone and having a hunting quota on pure wolves would be no bad thing a numbers increase.
  7. The policeman from Bala mory is definitely dodgy. But there is another kids show set in Edinburgh called me too. It is full of the oddest bunch of freaks you ever saw. The one who plays the school teacher is frankly terrifying and there is another one in a long black coat like some sort of prowler

  10. We had a young lad with aspbergers do work experience really lovely bright kid. He would recite the whole script of any fawlty towers episode if you asked him and was very proud to know each one word perfectly
  11. There do seem to be a lot of autistic people working in IT. Perhaps there brain function makes it easier for them to have the necessary skills or perhaps it is a career where they don't need to interact socially so much. There is an autistic woman called Temple Grandin who has become very big in the livestock industry designing restraint devices abattoirs etc and her special angle is hat only autistice people can think how animals do so the rest of us are not capable of working with livestock in the same way. I have looked into her work and you be honest she has designed some good stuff
  12. does anyone know what causes autism or aspbergers? Normally sufferers are of high intelligence aren't they, or is that just a myth?
  13. Maybe I am less patient with people than you are but ad far as I am concerned if somebody is rude to me then I will simply have nothing more to do with them at all. Totally refuse to acknowledge their presence. I have worked with people with aspbergers and whilst some may find it haRd to stick to normal social rules they can nonetheless learn to do so. A refusal to adapt how you behave so as not to cause offence is something we all have to do sometimes. Peckham seems to think he doesn't need to do this as his ego is enormous.
