  1. coursing is done in the daytime with a strict ethical code, please do not fall into the mindset portrayed by the media, lads driving fields can do so with both dogs and guns. these are the people who cause problems for the genuine dog lads and shooters alike. Again this does happen but is also used as another excuse far too often. Ethnical code? These guys had no ethnics. Just to tear up fields and smash gates. And don't start thinking typical shooter hate dogs as iv ferreted, Lamped and coursed before I started shooting. There maybe two honest in it for the sport lads to every ten lads with

  7. If I started hft I'd buy a left walnut tx200 hc, if i got my FAC and needed a air rifle for the closer range stuff I'd buy a hw95k. But with no hft courses and wanting a new springer I'd get a 95. Had the 97, had the and perfer break barrels so that would be my next choice. Pcp for long distance and lamping springer for closer and mooching.
  8. Well we had lads tearing up our fields last night in a Mitsubishi pagerio lamping hares with the dogs so what do you do, shoot the hares so there no more for them to course and ruin fields or let them carry on. I think a lot of farmers see the hare as a problem in the way of if there hares there's going to be lads coursing which leads to other problems as everyone knows. No hares no coursing no problems.
  9. One permission owner tells me I'm not allowed to shoot them and one hasn't said ,but I only hold the vermin rights and I don't class them as vermin. Saying that, iv shot them before but I'd rather not now. Lets hope the dog lads don't get wind of this topic Atb
  10. This is a hunting forum not the farmers weekly. Noones going to give you there land, try knocking on a few doors its not that hard
  11. I'd wear a 44inch chest so what size would you say? XL? Thank you for the help
  12. I'd wear a 44inch chest so what size would you say? XL?
  13. Iv just bought a bushnell 3-9x40 sportsman on eBay and can't wait to compare it to my hawkes. Should be a perfect for a little hw springer iv got in mind in a couple of months Atb
  14. Anyone sporting the deerhunter ram jacket and trousers? And is there any difference between the ram reverseable jacket to the normal green and camo version. Any info/reviews on them would be great Thanks
  15. Barracudas are the same as bis mags mate or just buy a .22 and have your problems solved Really? The tins I had, the Magnums were 10.6gr and the Barracuda 10.5gr - and pretty sure the pellet looked different too? The Magnums were more pointed and had a nipple (well not a real nipple) on the top...? VERY similar but not exact. Well when turn the Bisley tin over its days Barracuda on the bottom lmao, I thought they were 10.4gr aswel not probs wrong
  16. Thanks for the info bd, was looking at getting a cap for shooting and the lights would be great for reloading the mags while lamping Atb
  17. Been having a problem with a few foxes on one of my permissions, might have to have a word with the shooting party and see what can be done. Looks a nice of land mate Atb
  18. Have got to say I haven't shot in that many barns over 40yards long where extra power is required for longer shots have you? And when have ferals been so nervous they fly on sight of people. Just can't see your point of needing extra power for barn work, sub12flbs is more than enough for going straight through and pigeons head and out the otherwise where the roof is. Atb bud
  19. Just give the gun a good wipe down before and after and shouldn't have a problem. As said don't store it in the bag have it in a cuboard where it's dry
  20. £250 for a hawke scope?! Could get better and more reliable glass for that. Think I may stretch to £110 for the hawke varmint 3-10x44 sf and that's a gamble if you were ever to drop it well you f****d
  21. Couple of footpaths on one of my perms and it backs onto a row of houses and iv spoke to a few of them while shooting or getting out of the car and they have all been alright. Was out last night waiting over a warren which backs on to a back garden and the guy just walked down and dog took off with my rabbits but had a chat and was a canny guy was happy to for me to shoot the rabbits and asked if I could do anything with the foxes but my reply was not with this rifle... That's up to the shooting party which have the shooting rights to the land I only have the vermin rights by method of my choi

  23. Would do the job, but try and get it conditioned for fox, properly no chance. Best just snare or trap, your aloud one swift clean blow to the head to dispatch. I know a lad on this forum who's allowed to on his ticket but its because they don't see FAC air as suitable for foxs he has a normal FAC licence aswel which then allows him to shoot them with it. For this exact case of a 303 piece of lead isnt going to ricochet like the .22 rimfire but the same muzzle velocity as a rimfire and where the 303 loses all power at 400yards the .22 carrys on for 1.5 miles. I may stand corrected when he see's
  24. .303 daystate wolverine is what you need mate
