  1. Nice one mate, which gun shop do you use?
  2. Seeing as your still a youngen I'd go for the ultra. Cheaper, lighter and smaller. I shoot an ultra myself and it's great
  3. Cheers guys managed to find a few post on the bsa owners forum that all said sm50 so managed to order some off eBay today.
  4. Just been watching xtx's you tube vids and he says use a suitable lubricant but I haven't a clue so could someone tell me what they use. I'm doing the buddy bottle and fill port value. Thanks
  5. I think they say set zero on the highest mag because it makes it more precise? Could be wrong... When you set your zero at 30yards the pellet will have dropped slightly by that distance, the peak of the pellet will be around 20yards which is likely to be around a milldot above the cross hairs. Lads shooting .22 with normally set there zero around 25m not a lot of distance but enough to keep the pellet from rising to much and still hitting a 1inch target from 10m to 28m. Only other thing is to go out and try it on paper set to 30yard then get closer at 20yards and see where the pellet lands on
  6. Did you try another fence post? That might of just been a really hard one mate... If that doesn't work, the next option would be try it through a cronograph
  7. I use the hawke lrf600 and to be fair to hawke I left mine out in the field for a week and forgot about it on one of my permissions 12days in fact and found and still works spot on. Dependant on what I'm shooting will mean how often it gets used.
  8. BOOOMMMM HEADSHOT!!!!!!! Just messing once you have taken afew or see the damages first hand on what pest have done. Eg: crows pecking out the eye of new born lambs, squirrels raiding pheasant feeders meaning more time and effort, rabbits destroying acre of crop and when farmers take 4 ton per acre at £160 a ton of feed wheat you soon see the positives out weight the negatives.
  9. Nice one Aaron, It's a beauty that gun! Hopefully going to start the new year with a shoot in the morning. Happy new year mate
  10. I was looking at a new jackets before Xmas. It was between the ridgeline and river west smock a local gun shop told me about river west smocks being warm but their seams are shite and letting water in they won't sell it in their shop and flogging them on eBay in the end I went for ridgeline gear
  11. well as i said i would be back out on sunday with my mate but he hadnt been to well the night before so didnt make it out, things started abit slow plenty of activity but nothing wanted to let me get a shot off. the first squirrel i shot was coming into a feeder which normally has a few kicking about this one was walking along the branch to the feeder when it paused so at 25m off the bipod was an easy shot. straight through and off the other side of the branch into thick brambles. didnt fancy finding that one. had another walk round and spotted a young rabbit with a standing shot around 20m do
  12. Thanks for the comment lads! I'm back out in the morning with a mate that's getting into shooting and hasn't been out shooting squirrels so should be interesting... Pictures will follow if we get anything

  17. After not been to this land in a while I dropped a bottle of whiskey and card at the farmers house and had a quick chat the other day and said I'd be going out in the next week or so now I'm off work. We had a good frost this morning and knew the squirrels would be knocking about when it would start to thore. This permission is main woodland where his sheep and beast graze and there is a syndicate pheasant shoot so plenty of pheasants and feeders. Iv only really wondered into the woods with the dogs a couple of months ago but didn't see to much because of how thick the woodland is so today I w
  18. Struggle to see how you could bent a silencer, I'd check the internals first to make sure there all in place and check with another silencer. Are you a tool maker in acliffe?
  19. Darryl your a truck driver not a professional gunsmith you don't have what it takes to 'tune' an air rifle! Your 'tune' only took an hour on camera and basic tools so your results a far to good to be true!! On a more serious note iv learnt things about the hw97kt I didn't know so from me it's a great set of videos showing lads who maybe can't afford a 'professional tune' how to make their rifles that little bit sweeter. Another thing is if you ever fancy a go using custom spring guilds and top hat give me a shout I know a couple of toolrooms which we use at work and have TIG welded for m

  21. The blitz is the bigger more powerful lamp, ether can have the front part twisted to make the spot tighter and wider. My cousins uses the striker variable and is spot on for the dogs, the blitz is like waving a frying pan around in the air
