  1. On one of my ferrting trips a few years ago I actually caught a pole cat a brought it home. It came walking out of a hedge as I walked past. It was all skin and bone! I approched with caution and dangled a rabbit infront of it and put it in a hession sack. We i got home I kept it in a spare hutch for a week or so without being brave enough to try and hold it as it seemed to bite what ever went near it! (as it was so bloody hungery I think) I still have it to this day and after a couple of weeks getting some food into it, it was as friendly as any other. Must have been a lost pet as i herd abou
  2. look that the prices for the south! I start at £60 for one mole, no catch no fee. £ for 2 £100 for 3. it would have to be a good bit of shooting in return!
  3. I would go with the post above. Feens are great for squirrel, rat, mink etc. for rabbits i would get your self some 116 body grip traps from pro trapper. no worry about soil getting under the trigger and alot easier to place. Also when i used the Mk6 on rabbits i always got fur or the odd rabbit nipple. with the 116 body grip if something sets it off, its dead.
  4. runnerbeans and cabbage I herd someone mention they feed their pet rabbit runner beans for a treat. so i tried it and had great results in some places or nothing in others? but cabbage was a good alrounder
  5. The collarum fox trap cost around £100 from pro trapper. They last for years. I have caught over 200 foxes on them. However i do use 4 of them. Best fox trap you will ever buy!!
  6. I have used a liner hob before, I can help you get you jill back but you end up making one hell of a mess with miss digs. Its easy to find out how far in the tunnel the jill is but the rabbit tunnels are not straight lines so all you can get from the liner is how far from the entrance to the hole your jill is. You get no idea what direction its in, hence usually digging a few holes. I have ferreted without a finder and usually find that hanging a rabbit with gut open over a hole up wind of the hold up quite often works. If all else fails, fill all the rabbit holes with soil and place a couple
  7. I have 2 of the old grey boxes, I brought the micro box for about £ 5 or so years ago and i was given by a mate the bigger one. both still working fine. the have been dropped, left out when i have lost them for a weekend or so, run over with a quad, yet they still work! The only trouble i have is finding collars for them although i have been told that the mk3 collars work with them. Be warned they always seem to say the ferret is about 12"-18" deeper than they actually are! I have herd of a few ferrets killed my the spade whilst digging. Take it slow and use a spike to find the run. A finder
  8. I once had 14 ferrets in a large shed / avery. I went out to feed them all one morning and there was only 10! 4 missing. no holes etc found. Then about a week later only 8 left and then about a month later only 6 left. I set a trip wire across the bottom of the door with a 12g blank on it. I was watchin tv one evening when the blank went off and the bloke ran like hell lol I think he though i shot at him lmao Never had a ferret go missing since
  9. If you on the foot path with your dogs on a lead "not scareing the live stock" then you are quoite within your rights. If they were on the foot path with a loaded firearm they are breaking the law. Driving down the road with the firearm out of the window is just asking to be nicked
  10. Buy Aniseed flavorings mate, It aint cheap but they love it. You have to put all the corn through a cement mixer though which isn't so fun. I no 2 keepers that are using it with good results
