  1. We charge a set fee of £60 for one mole, then £20 per mole there after! With a no catch no fee policy. Very rare the mole moves on, in the past 4 years only been 2-3 houses that we've not caught one. These prices are within 15mile radious, further afield is charged at £ but that would include the first two or its not worth going!
  2. Had a good run on mole calls beggining of last week but slowed towards the end, I drove past a contract of mine today and saw a couple of moles in the paddocks so they will be on the blower soon!
  3. I have found that setting two Fenns under a tunnel with about 4" between and leaving a bit of meat like Rabbit leg or the best thing is a couple of mice between. Then cover completely with sticks and twings and leave a small entry hole at each end, rub some meat on the ground to lead them in! Place anywhere they are seen! It usually picks them off fairly quickly!
  4. It depends what im trapping with them but rabbits I used body grips, squirrels I use both and when general clearances around woodland is needed then I used fenns purely because I have a lot of them and only 10 body grips lol
  5. I can't say what the numbers are locally to you, but nationally Greys are increasing and spreading. Late Summer/early Autumn is actually the time when Greys (and many other animals and Birds) find food supplies at there most abundant and have to work less hard for it. Being largely omnivorous, Greys will exploit just about any available food source.just before and during harvest time they're usually travelling to fields of grain, maize etc hence more are seen crossing roads at this time. Then there's the years young spreading out as they become independant. This is when most pet control
  6. This would have been a huge help to me when I started and would have saved me a pretty penny!! Good for you to offer this!
  7. He has even found the time to do a seminar / training day in the north for Barratine!
  8. I totally agree Matt family does come first, they are the most important thing in my life............but, when he continues to run a business, taking money off people, with promises that never materialise, then that affects other people and their livelihoods and families. I would hate to be in his position, and if true I feel for the fella, but a simple note, or caviat on his website, would give people the heads up that there may be a long wait, and/or give them the choice to go elsewhere based on the information available. I also agree with matt and this quote above! Family does c
  9. Our squirrel work is down on last year but then there isn't as much fruit on the trees! Most of my clients only want rid once they start stealing the fruit.
  10. Yeah! Deliver as many as you can to the residents of Berkshire lol
  11. I have done the job and all corrida have gone! I guess it would work any where the birds are landing! In or out
  12. Moles have been remarkable busy all year in southern England! Keep them comming
  13. I have spoken with killgerm and another pester and they say "it will work" but I like yo have my doubts! I want to make sure I fix the pots down well as crows might just pull it up! I cleaned he site today and will the installing Friday weather permitting!
  14. Has anyone used this against corvids? I have a client with a large house that has a 10m x 6m leaded flat box gutter type roof with a 3m x 2.2m peeked skylite. The crows are pecking at their reflections in the glass and trying to pull the rubbers out. I wanted to use translusent netting over the hole flat area, fix on the parapet wall but this is not wanted by the client. The only option is "Bird Free" I've used it to good effect with pigeons but not corvids. I'm told it will work but im a little skeptical!
  15. I have taken Dog, vixen and 8 cubs from a garden before. thats the largest litter i've seen.
  16. Try a collarum! Its very rare to catch an adult dog fox in a cage! even in a urban area! unless its ill or starving. The collarum will pick it off within a week im sure, Dont disturb or change the bait for atleast 7 days, just check from a distance to let your scent settle down.
  17. I do as DA Pest Control says! Just leave the mole hills closest to your trap standing and rake the others. I used to use canes but kept loosing traps! not because people stole them, I have a problem with the deer pulling the canes out and moving them. I lost 15 Talpex on one 400acre farm once because of this! I have maps of each contract sketched and photo copy one for each visit, leave the mole hills standing and don't seem to have any trouble with stolen traps, nor lost ones.
  18. Thats pretty heavy! I'm just waiting for mine to dry before I can get is measured, Looks a similar shape size etc hights averages 26cm width is 20.5cm and rear tine is 5.5cm but it only weighs 585gr atm Don't think it is quite heavy enough for gold.
  19. When shooting on my own, if the gun is mounted after some practice you can squeak on he side of the stock. But I must admit I never shoot alone
  20. I don't often use the duffas traps any more as I find Talpex traps are quicker to set and I have a slightly better catch rate with them. I only have 10 trap lines and don't use them at often as I can't usually get the strings untangled lol but I have to say I see no problem with these traps, every mole has been caught and crushed just behind the rib cage! The only traps I've had problems with the mole being alive in are the scissor traps! But the Talpex is my trap of choice ATM,
  21. What did it weigh out of intrest? Nice buck too
  22. http://www.basc.org.uk/en/departments/deer-management/trophy-measuring/ This isn't great but it will give you an idea what to do!
  23. Nice heads both of them! Looking at them I think the one I posted will be at least silver if not gold too!
  24. I do a lot of mole work all year and don't ever remember a double catch in the autum/ winter. I still get the odd one now but will stop soon.
