  1. Jasper, sometimes those fleeces are "inter-active" with an outer coat. In other words they zip inside a certain style of coat. I wonder if that can effect the fleeces "feel and fit". If you think about it, a size large outer coat, without the fleece will feel looser, if you get my drift , than it would if a fleece was zipped into it! Not everyone wears the two at the same time hence the inter-active bit. A little confusing to explain I know....

    Bird Nesting

There's a report in the Mail today about an egger from Coventry getting six months! The RSPB are on a roll with this kind of thing. It seems that the wildlife are better thought of than we humans! They have far stricter protection that's enforced.
  3. I've an AYA SbS that's shifted some stuff over the years and missed some, (last evening for example:thumbdown: ) .

    terriers

I take mine these days if a lurcher's not available when we lamp with the gun, for finding wounded stuff. He stays in the van though until needed. Otherwise like Simo said, watch out for them disappearing down after pigs or even foxes, which won't be fun in the dark!
  5. My mate got bought a puppy from the place in Manchester at christmas...in good faith and with good intentions by his daughter, but he doesn't want it and they won't except it back! A Lahso Apso dog puppy, it's a bonny thing but not wanted unfortunately, and it cost a pretty penny too.

    book

Ronnie, in really good nick, without any damage or marks on the outer boards, I've seen them go for £50 or more, normally though about £35-£40 with some wear-minor damage. If you have one with a dust jacket on, you can put another £25-£30 on top of that. I've never seen one with a jacket on, they're very very scarce.
  7. Just about typing this sImoman, well pissed now my old mATE. Outr with the lads tomos, hopefi8uully there'll be a charlie or two. Tally feckin' ho!
  8. Showing my age here lads, but who cares. I got ELOs greatest hits today (I asked for it) and I've just had it on the headphones...Happy days. I bought the wife the "Jackie" CD as well and that's brought back memories from the seventies. More happy days.
  9. Just as Baldie says but I've only ever left my brushes in the soak for a couple of days, maybe four or five and they've remained ok to this day. Did one last week for a friend I was with out lamping and it now hangs proudly from his rear view mirror. I always wash the brush afterwards under a tap and then with a whipping motion, remove the excess water. They normally come up a treat. Hang it up to dry. Hoping to do one or two more this week. OTC, you must have left "something in" when you took the tail off. The small mustelids can be reet tough, (as in getting everything out) to strip cleanl
  10. Ditto Tom, I've joined this year, full adult package. Very pleased. I've even put the logo at the top of my permission letters.
  11. That's good going Rob, and a fine fox. I bagged one on sunday while out ferreting. I don't know if it was coming to take one of the rabbits that was hung up on the fence but he was heading that way, mind you, there were several various breeds of mutts on his line too!

    RSPCA

Looks like they've jumped on the "phone-in" bandwagon..In the Express today you can phone in with your vote for your "Dog of the year". Run by the ARSEpca, they've got to be taking a slice of the money, surely?
  13. I've never tried pursuing foxes from a vehicle on the lamp as the terrain over which I shoot is very hilly and bumpy. However, I've often, like last night for instance, had foxes come in to the squeak and have had them near enough to take with the shotty. You seem to do ok with your method.
  14. England seem to have the sign over the Aussies at the moment in World Cups. Just watching the All Blacks now...Is there anything to stir the human emotion better than those All Blacks doing the Hakka? ...The french were about two foot from their faces, eyeballing them. Great stuff, lets hope for a good game.
  15. £2.50 postage...cheeky fecker! It's unusual for the seller to put his address up isn't it? "The Holy Grail". Simo, what will your collection of Fr***s  be worth in a few years time?
  16. There is an excellent video available, showing how to use the traps successfully AND safely.
  17. It was a toss up if I watched the Welsh game Pat, the "Batman" film from the sixties was on the other channel., Adam West and Burt Ward as the dynamic duo....Batman won! "KA-POOW", "THWACK". Good luck to those from the home shores that are left...they'll need it.

    IF?

First of all, I'm indebted to all the Masters and huntsmen who have the balls to still turn out every week and continue to rub the noses of this government in the hounds shite, because without that kind of stirring attitude, I can't continue to turnout...no hound meets and I might as well do a Rip Van Winkle, so thanks for keeping going. I live in hope of a repeal...but only in hope. Out for a lamp now with Baldie.
  19. I'm just west of there and I've had phone calls from a few lads about this earlier, so ears open and eyes peeled.
  20. First of all Jasper, to get the coppers attention, tell them there's a few lads with a badger tied to your fence with a dog attacking it...that should get them round before you've put the phone down. A word with the local druggies, who will need the money, will do no harm....
  21. That's a good review Sindasox, thanks for that. You could do worse than to use one of the more well known walking named boot like Berghaus, Scarpa, Raichle or Meindl . With those calf length boots the research and manufacturing needs to be looked at again I think...they're ok for standing around in posing or driving, but bollocks when walking miles in heavy weather and crossing streams etc. There's some good reviews in the walking maggies for 3-4 season boots. "Altberg", the name sounds good, mighty and strong, but it's not everything.
  22. Yep, he was a great fighter. That era was a good one...Hearns, Haggler, Duran etc from abroad and Sibson, Minter, Mcguigan and Honeygan from over here. They've all entertained me.
  23. Something we don't need but on the other hand a quote from my local free anti rag this evening has got me perplexed. A letter from the ARSEpca about tail docking and the law, the letter ends..." The society believes that a total ban, such as that introduced in Scotland, should be brought in and that docking should be permitted only after the tail has suffered serious injury or disease". A bit late don't you think to save the animal from pain and distress! Surely prevention is better.....
