  1. That's really nice to know, thanks dodger
  2. Squeeze the urine from the bladder, remove the guts (I'm fussy and always do this within a minute or two of shooting them) then hock them and either hang them from a branch or hurdle them onto a branch to carry :
  3. Went after pigeos today, came home with a great cock pheasant and a bunny :)

  8. Get my lurcher catching rabbits and retrieving shot quarry. Lose a stone and heal my tendonitus and get back into training Reinvent my career drink less engage in more field sports with better planning
  9. Good luck and hope your hunt goes well
  10. Always lube mine and discard any mis-shapen pellets. Definitely tightens up the groupings quite noticeably and most trophy winning FT shooters do the same.
  11. How about squirrels and really high winds?
  12. Been helped by a few and helped a few out; it all balances out in the grand scheme of things Paulus is a good 'un.
  13. Best laid plans can so easily be thwarted by the weather! With great expectations Chris (Bruno22rf) and I headed up to my local spinney, by the manor as the owner had said that the squirrels there were being a "damned nuisance" and she wanted them "seeing orf". Well, Chris got his pass from his SWMBO and we found ourselves cammo'd up with nice pcp's and ammo and a kind of plan. We were going to stalk/ambush squirrels til an hour before dusk then switch to ambushing woodies as they came into roost. Sadly, squirrels seemed few an far between and the weather was changing for the wors
  14. Squirrel hunting in a hurricane - not good!

  15. Met a few from THL and all bar one were salt of the earth types and one who I wouldn't trust. Obviously not going to list everyone I've met! The experience of meeting someone new from a hunting website always has the same characteristics, especially if there are shotguns or firearms involved: slight apprehension and waryness fairly quickly replaced by relief once both parties realise that they are both of similar mindset and aren't potential nutcases after all
  16. Thanks for a qualified, definitive answer Dymented. Nice looking hound too
  17. thats going to go down like a peado in disneyland. Lol!
  18. Nice to have proper answer - thanks Let the cynics scoff, I know what I saw. Note that I never claimed they could or did catch one as there was a fence/hedge between them. But the angle I saw things from, they did appear to be making ground on the deer quite rapidly and thats about as much as I have to say to the doubting thomas's.
  19. Hi folks, I took my dogs out for a good walk today and had them off the lead along a hedge. The boys spotted a roe buck the other side and chased it along the hedge/fence line. It soon became clear that they totally outpaced the deer and I feel I've missed a major trick here. At the very least I reckon they may have been good for lamping. Does anyone work their Ridgebacks on here?
  20. question is, have you ever fired both? pcp being easier.springer being more "skillfull" as i like to put it..but i opt for pcp..simple lol happy new year :)and duncan..i will be with you withing jan or feb time mate I've had more springers than pcp's and ultimately I've ended up with a pcp for the last 5 years. That said, I can imagine worse fates than spending an airgun hunting lifetime with an HW95K. It's one class rifle.Being a springer, it keeps your rifle shooting skills sharp and honest as you have to use good technique, or miss the target. Ps - Nice one Rob, pm when you're
  21. Beat me to it! For the budget you'll get an immaculate rifle with scope, used. Will never cost you for CO2 and it is more accurate than the owner can be too:) If you get a 95K I'd get a .22 as the recoil is softer and more pleasant to shoot. Just lop 5 yards off your chosen hunting limit with a .177 and enjoy:)
  22. And you give some adults a rifle and they couldn't hit a barn door with it
