  1. 3.5-10 x 44 Hawke I find is ideal (for me).
  2. I would very heartily recommend a BSA Supersport in .22. Fabulous gun! Duncan.
  3. Sounds like my RFD is an honest chap then! Fankies
  4. One cannot deny your good taste
  5. The question in my mind was 'why did you get a dog if didn't want anything to do with it or have it in your house?' Poor animal! Glad that human excrement is on a charge. Duncan.
  6. Sounds like vandals to me, not hunters. I've never come across hunters that would do this. D.
  7. Hi gang, I topped up on ammo today for my hummer and asked what other ammo is available beyond the hornady red tips I've been using to see if their accuracy can be topped (like I do with all my rifles - trying other brands to find the best). The Gunshop chaps answer surprised me. He said that they were pretty much all are made in the same factory - hornady, remmington and winchester. So there wouldn't really be difference in performance. Is this true? He could have sold me dearer ammo to try but sold me the normal hornady at £20 per 100. All comments gratefully received ! Dun
  8. As the title suggests, I am looking to do a first guided stalk using an estate rifle as currently my FAC only covers .22lr and .17hmr. Lucky swine that I am, my wonderful wife is treating me for Christmas. So any recommendations would be appreciated. I'm not bothered about the trophy aspect but would like to keep the kill for the freezer and would be happy to butcher it myself. I'd prefer to go for Roe, Sika or Red deer ideally. Many thanks in anticipation, Duncan.
  9. Using my net suit, I had wrens running up and down my back and landing on my hat in a dutch barn a couple of times - amazing! What a gift from nature. Wrens are my favourite bird. (other than the large breasted nubile variety of course). D.
  10. Local police website and download their fac application - fill in and send off with fee. you'll need land to shoot on and 2 referees for your character and be of good standing from the feo's point of view. Cheers D.
  11. padded bra's - lead to false expectations and disappointment.
  12. english who go on about all of the above but still choose to live in "OUR" country, if you dont like it then f**k off home!! same could be said for the scots and the welsh in England.
  13. people chewing with their mouths open - gross, lads wearing jeans so low they look like they've soiled themselves, bmw drivers, people who pull out on you making you emergency stop and then just wave to say 'thank you, i know I'm a cnut', bmw drivers, obnoxious sales people in gunshops..... more to add as they come to me.
  14. Unless of course they are really fit!
  15. Hehehehe. I think you may actually make a child shit himself! i might just have to get me a gillie suit after all
  16. Good luck with finding new land and I think we'd all agree here that the farmer was a bit of a cupid stunt for pulling that one on you. If I were him, I'd have said that I already had a chap to do pest control - first come first served after all. Moleys idea of asking him for other possibilities is a sound one. Cheers and all the best, Duncan.
  17. Very much likewise!! Hope you have fun with it and that it didn't cost you to get sorted. Nice one. Duncan.
  18. Scrumpy n foster with a shot of vodka - now I'd be engaging in scintillating convo! Just a 2 slice sarnie burner for me. I'm staying vigilant against middle-age spread
  19. It would also be good for lurking in public parks and scaring the bejeezus out of any passing little old ladies
  20. Thanks for the feedback guys One thing I was surprised at was the lack of meat damage on the pheasants. I'd read and heard that this was a problem with the hummer, but frankly the bullet seems to have just left a clean entry and exit wound; not much to worry about at all. Mmmm - reminded me we're having roast pheasant on sunday Duncan. Ps - Chris texted me last night to say he's putting in for his hmr variation too, after the recent trips we've had out with mine. He reckons he'll get a CZ.
