  1. Very good. I've been amazed lately of how cheap rifles can be produced. I was looking at a new Hatsan scope combo in my local gun shop today, apparently the shop's best seller, for under £200. Not something I would buy but it certainly gives you a good start. I was spoilt learning to shoot with the HW77K that I have today when I was 10 years old
  2. Mawders I think it was obvious from the outset that it was a 'you give me a rifle I'll do you a review' deal, especially with the line that ThUnderbolts and SMK Spitfires performed well its like reading a Nigel Allen review Nonetheless its clear that Mike has a talent for the written word and I take my hat of to him that he's putting his talents to good use, indeed I think his stories woukd make an interesting read in the big mags, especially considering his background and choice of lifestyle - its something a little bit different and unique. Well done Mike, I wish you all the succes
  3. Where abouts in Morecambe are you from pal? Do you go to Heysham Rifle & Pistol Club? ATB
  4. dont worry about me or pianoman.... we dont wana meet u anyway .......  Eeek! I did say all you guys meaning everyone on the forum. Pianoman is a legend and you're both great contributers to this forum Would be great to meet everyone
  5. Really need to meet up with you guys. Si, Mike, Mawders it would be a pleasure to meet you all
  6. Nice one pal, you know where I am if you need any help You're doing really well at the moment with permissions. Lets hope there's some squizzers in the woods
  7. No way Milegajo, I can't believe you've swapped rifles again You gave into the Mawders pressure and went for the 95! I shot one at the club and it sounded like an elastic band! Would definately need tune. Lovely light and nice handling rifle all the same. I'd buy a tuned one fron SFS I think. Maybe in another 12 months..
  8. Fantastic review Si, very professional. If I had the cash I'd love one of these for the new golf course permission. Well done mate
  9. Sounds like a air rifle shooters dream, I'd love a woodland
  10. Hi Skot, I couldn't do much better pal from a sitting position, its something I need to practice with. I usually shoot from the prone position resting on my rucksack. Shooting accurately with a springer is an artform, we could all do with a lesson from pianoman! Keep at it mate and those groups will tighten up soon. Like you say it was pretty windy too so don't be too harsh on yourself!
  11. still experimented with pellets yet so that I can give it a fair go. Nothing seems to pan out properly when I nip out to do some accuracy testing. I'm blaming the scope at the minute, I'm on the lookout for a panorama ev
  12. Hi Skot, its a very accurate rifle but unfortunately I didn't quite cut the mustard tonight. Its alright shooting the edge of pennies and wire fencing but if you fluff it up the field you're as good, or bad, as any novice. I need more practice
  13. Went onto the small permission this afternoon at around 2pm to have a plink with the HW100KT and check grouping and holdover at 50m. I took a range of pellets with me including AA Field, JSB Exact Express, Webely Accupel, Rangemaster Li, H&N FTT and RWS Superdome. Unsuprisingly the Li's came out top, grouping around an inch due a pretty strong wind. I'm confident it would have been half of that in calm conditions but I had established it was 4 mildots hold over on x7 mag, dropping 22.5cm with a 23m zero which was what I set out to check. I aimed and hit the barbed wire to check t
  14. Don't Mawders, I'll end up buying one.. The product speaks for itself, absolutely brilliant. I wouldn't have any any scope right now. Miles can't compete in the big boys league, he dreams of joining us but can't, he's so used to using under powered 2nd hand rifles and cheap glass. A poor mans substitute. Elliott go look through one they are superb. ATB Mawders I'm on the look out Mawders but keeping it low key, I've just bought a house and we move in 3 weeks.. need to keep quiet about another scope so the misus doesn't crack on Let me know if you see any
  15. Nice review Mike, are you reviewing on behalf of the manufactuer or are they your latest aquisition?
  16. It would be the MK4is for me, a much more attractive rifle imo ATB
  17. Very interesting Mike and as usual eliquently put, I could listen/read this kind of thing all night - broadens the mind. I think we have all, over time, been taught to accept the 'rules' that govern our country and don't, perhaps through ignorance, feel we have the authority to question. Shame I don't live more local Mike, I'd be very interested to hear more of your experiences and views I suspect Mawders may have some inside knowledge of the law but, with respect, there has to be that many pieces of legislation out there things really are 'as clear as mud.' If we look at the basic
  18. Nice one lads. Davy that TX looks a treat to shoot, the stock looks a bit hefty for lugging around though. Looking forward to the HW100 NV episode
  19. I was thinking that too, think I'd have an MFR over an Air Ranger any day
