  1. Out with Darrenb47 this morning. We've been feedng the squirrels up for a week and a half. Shooting from a hide we ended the morning with two squirrels each (one unretrievable). We tried to film the action but we were both a bit rubbish with the cameras and not properly set up Will have another go next time Recieps welcome
  2. The result from this morning with the HW100KT
  3. Cheers Darren, we'll be knocking some squirrels about tomorrow with it
  4. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/268281-22-hw100kt/#entry2904434 Lewis, if you're interested let me know
  5. For sale my HW100KT in .22 - rifle only - in lovely original tiger striped walnut stock. Never thought I'd sell this rifle but I'm planning on getting my FAC this year and need the funds to purchase a .17HMR I've had the rifle since new and bought it around three years ago from my local gunshop, Stephen J Fawcett's for £720. The rifle has been very well looked after and like all my equipment has been wiped down with Balistol oil after every outing, I'm a bit OCD when it comes to looking after my gear and this rifle reflects that. There are some very small marks on the tip of the silen
  6. Thanks for all the advice. I do like a properly set up trigger and prefer the thumbhole stocks if I'm honest. This looks like it may fit the bill. Apparenly the triggers are pretty good. Anyone used one? Savage 93R17 BTVSS TB Carbine
  7. Oh lads I don't know. Heart says Wehirauch / Anschuts, wallet says CZ.. but I could stretch to a HW or Annie Never heard of the Sako
  8. Try the CZ 452 its exactly the same as the 455 only its a fixed barrel, because everyone is going for the new 455 you should pick up a 452 a lot cheaper, I got one about 3 months ago for £320, it loves hornady 17 grain and shoots very tight groups at 100 yards, if you want a .22 get a dedicated one, its saves a lot of messing about changing barrels and re zeroing plus they are cheap enough, you would still need an extra slot on your FAC for the extra barrel anyway. Fair point, is the interchangable barrel the only difference?
  9. Sounds like its the CZ then with interchangable barrels
  10. That looks great and a lot cheaper than the Weihrauch. The interchangable barrel could be the selling feature for me. I made the mistake of reading another tread last night and regarding .22 vs .17 and was undecided. How much are the .22lr barrels for the CZ and are they easy enough to swap?
  11. Thanks Adam, I'll look at one of those too. What do they retail at?
  12. In fact if you're up for it and ever down Buckinghamshire way, you can come and put some rounds thru it - try before you buy Cheers Duncan, what you rekon then, nice piece of kit - worth the money? I'll be selling my HW100 to fund it
  13. I heard the CZ's have crappy triggers?..
  14. Taking the leap to FAC after the new year. I've been looking at these and they look really nice. What do you guys think, anything better or cheaper and just as good available? Don't mind spending the money for a nice piece of kit but I've heard that they're all pretty similar accuracy wise, is that true?
  15. Didn't realise you were a pensioner Si, you look well for 65!
  16. Bloody Hell Si you must have some dosh!
  17. hi Elliott make sure there on the ground first!! That's right Davey, 2 mile range if fired at a 45degree angle! It'll be great for the wise old crows on the family farm in the open fields.. Can't get within 200 yards of the buggers
  18. Not really pal, they're a different league. The .17hmr round is pretty spectacular in the way it fragments on impact. Its ideal for rabbits too. Virtually flat trajectory from 50 - 150m. We'll see
  19. Thinking of selling the HW100KT in the new year after I apply for my FAC. I'll be keeping the B&C tuned 1985 HW77K for sentimental reasons and short range pest control. I just can't resist one of these after handling them numerous times. Typical Weihrauch quality and a thing of beauty, they come in various stock options.. At 2,600fps and around 270ft/lb I'll be looking forward to taking out some pesky 150 yard crows Look out for the HW100 in the For Sale section next year
  20. I must admit, I think the thumbhole stocks do feel more comfortable to hold. I picked up a 97KT in my local shop and it seemed a perfectly balanced rifle
  21. Give the Rangemaster Li's a try Simon, similar to the accupels. If you'd like to PM me you address I'll happily send you some in .22 cal to try in your existing rifles
