  1. £200 FOR WHAT MATE????? ITS FREE FOR MALE DOGS AND £35 FOR BITCH That would only be if your on benifits, ferrifelboy - if you are on benifits then some of the vets round wigan do the dogs trust neutering, if your on any of these then you should be intitled to it, (Income support; Jobseeker’s Allowance; Working tax credit; Housing Benefit; Council Tax Benefit; Pension Credit) think its around 30 quid - the only two vets i know of are the ones in hindley, but there may be others.

    ADVICE NEEDED

I say its no ones fault - things like this happen, dogs do fight and all's you can do from now on is manage the situation. Except for trying to take you to small clams court, theres nothing much he can do, police will not do anything as it was dog on dog and no one got hurt, basicaly i would tell him you will pay his vet bill - if he pays yours i would however be prepared for him to start causeing shit - as he does sound that type of person.
  3. Is that Ken from leigh who used to do the dogs at westhoughton track ? If so would personaly never use him again, after experancing how it should be done - i wouldnt even entertain him touching one of my dogs again - he's cheap granted - but he lacks in how he treats and handles dogs, he is to ruff with them and im suprised he's still going, after all he's no qualifcations, i took my old dog to him once - he didnt even check her over proper, cracked her neck and back and that was it. Have used meek couple of times before - he's good at finding out whats wrong with the dog, but tre
  4. Nope the NFWS have had post mortems done on a few ferrets that have died, and distemper has been confirmed. http://server14.web-...BKPuL/index.htm strange theres been no dog related outbreaks in the same areas Theres been at least 1 i know of the dog came out of a pound round stoke/birmingham area in to rescue, it was luckaly caught early and survived it. Sorry it wasnt a young dog - it was an older one.

  6. Your better off with the spray insted of the drops and better off getting it from the vets, the frontline they sell in shops isnt working as good as it once was.
  7. Theres been a couple of confirmed cases in stoke a few months ago, these dogs came out of one of the dog pounds in to rescue. i know with ferrets its spreading, a friend of mine who runs ferret rescue has had to shut her doors, as shes lost a few to distemper.
  8. Its cheaper buying honey - it does excatly the same as Glucogel (was hypostop) when the dog go's in to a hypo, rub the honey on the gums till the dog comes round.
  9. You can get an EEG done on dogs, but you would probably need a specalist to do it, having said that its said EEG is not realy usefull to dectect epilepsy. You could always try contacting one of the Veterinary neurologists - to see if they could come up with anything. http://www.canineepilepsy.co.uk/VetRecource/Neuro_special.htm
  10. You cant simple, your body will always be fighting it, only thing that happens is you get used to ignoreing it - its easier if you already suffer with insomnia. Ive worked just nights for the last 4 -5 years, normal night hours were 8 - 8, i normaly would get home from work and chill for a bit, as you do find when you walk through the door you get another burst of energy then go to bed about half 10 ish and get back up about half 6 i prefare working nights - as i do suffer with insomnia, at the mo i work 7 nights a week at home on call, 10-8, am allowed to sleep - then im out again fr
  11. They do give asylum seekers fully furnished places, have seen it a few times, but its not only asylum seekers. My brother, his girlfriend and their 2 year old, are stuck in a one bed top floor flat, they have been trying for a house for over 6 months, one came up a couple of months ago on the same street they are in now, but the council went in fully renovated and fully furnished it, a week later they put some polish people in it, they only stopped in 2-3 weeks then was gone, the next day the council put a young lad in that 3 bed house, he was stright out of jail after serving his te
  12. He could try a McTimoney chiropractor or physio - it kept my old lurcher off meds for the last 3 years of her life ( she was 17 when pts and still wasnt showing any more joint or muscle problems) , if there decent they should show him excersizes that can be done at home so he shouldnt need to take the dog to often.
  13. Poacher you will find Jim does actualy do a lot for rescue, he gives up his time to assess and advise on rescue lurchers - he's helped with the shows we have done. ive a bull lurcher hear with me on foster at the mo, shes not up for rehoming yet as she has needed work doing with her to get her ready - due to the fact this dog had its leg shattered to bits and had to have it removed (someone shot her multiple times with a pellet gun at close range) Jims been helping me get her ready and advising me on the best way forward with some things, not everything he does is to line his pockets.
  14. Yes you can - but try not to call me a gent
  15. Theres a couple of people i used to buy from K.G bettas and another bloke, but hes stopped breeding now, unfortunaly not many will sell them at this time of year as its to cold to send them through the post. Some of he's are not cheap, but they are very good examples of the breed. http://www.kgbettas.co.uk/ try these forums as well - not been on them for a couple of years, since i stopped breeding/keeping them, they were good forums at the time, but couldnt say what there like now. http://www.bettas4all.nl/index.php?sid=55ba31b8bbd4d8c9a3566d41679e069c http://forum.ukbetta.co.u
  16. Whin - he still has a black collie x, shes getting on a bit. Have only ever seen Jim ferreting, so cant comment on lamping - but i do know he lets his dogs get on with the job gives them very few commands.
  17. End of the day everyone has to make a living some how and if jim wants to do it this way - along with his dog training, then why not, if people are willing to pay him for it then thats up to them. Ive known jim for quite a few years now and like others have said he's is a sound bloke. he's helped me quite a lot with some training and i have been out with him ferreting a couple of times although only local, with me im starting my first young bitch off - added to that shes a rescue dog and a pig headed beddy x at times she did come from working parents - Jim has been a great help, as s
  18. As far as im aware theres no intentions of bring back the dog licence, the rspca have been trying to get it brought back with the backing of the bmp, but most of the goverment know its not worth it it never worked before so what would make it work this time, seeing as if they did bring it back the fee per dog would be between 20-30 quid a year, how many would pay that if they have more than a couple of dogs, i woudnt be able to for a start, it would end up with even more dogs dumped or found dead. As far as i know these are the latest talks on it, its mostly to do with the dangerous d
  19. Metacam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, it will reduce swelling but not bruising, you cant get it without a script. arnica is quite safe, i would probably go more for the cream - than the tabs.
  20. I paid i think around 35 quid for a hand carved lined leather collar.
  21. I wouldnt try a bone man till you at least have a vague idea of whats going on. If there is a problem in the spinal area, a bone man could make it worse if they manuplated it, couple of years ago i had to have one of mine pts, as she was paralised on her back end, she had - had problems for months with her tail paralising, no cause for them problems then one day i just touched her on her back and that was it, the screaming was horible and with in 5 mins she couldnt move - even tramadol didnt make a differance, so i ended her suffering, when ever she had gone in before nothing ever cam
  22. Have seen adult dogs done and its took fine, only differance in doing an adult dog to a pup is a pup can be easer to handle and keep still, were as an adult dog you can end up wrestleing. Get in touch with your local greyhound track - as they would be able to tell you who they use. or try posting on the greyhound data forum, theres a few from ireland post on there. http://www.greyhound-data.com/knowledge.php?b=0
  23. For the welp use anything that can be thrown and is absorbent, towel's etc then put down Vet bedding its quick to wash and very quick to dry - however it isnt cheap, but does last.
  24. Same as you dogs stay with me for life, but if quality of life was comprimised and the pup wouldnt have a good quality of life then i would pts. I currently have a dog with me on foster - shes a bull x and was very nealy pts before the rescue stepped in, we do think shes been worked before, when she was found one of her back legs was shot to bits (pellets) and had to be removed, the rescue has spent quite a bit so far on her, with more to come (spaying, chip, vacc etc) they wont even get half of that back in the form of a donation when shes rehomed, not for one second would anyone hav
  25. Theres hardley anything round hear, we've had myxi twice and have seen the shooters out so they've wiped most out.
