  1. i'm not trying to un-earth some holy grail , just wondering about one dog as i've said its a long time ago and it was called henry or harry i can't remember edited to add maybe the dog got a name change or DNA lol
  2. black broken coated dog about 15 years ago
  3. i used another of DF Dog called Ben , a dog killer i found out later think he killed ginger and dingo , had a litter of 4 bitches never had harder bitches , i kept one called Raven ( i had 3 called raven easier when you have young children and a young one disappears ) didn't make it past 2 lost to ground her sister fluff is the hardest terrier i've seen a rough coated staff was her type , out of the both litters i bred high % of workers although all out if the ben litter where dead before breeding age and this is over 20 years ago , Df has been in hunt service all this time never heard anyone
  4. Tony harper got dingo from the guy that NS got rags from although at the time I'm not sure Df and Ns knew it
  5. Yes on the phone fat fingers edited it
  6. Used one of DF dogs Dingo bred 3 very good pups but Dingo was not DF breeding this early 90s and when I fist saw a Photo of a NS bred terrier a bitch Dingo had been put over
  7. nice pair of Terriers FD hope the pup goes well for you , Neil stick a photo of that pup up
  8. I've met the said gentleman and a fair few others from the north who never call them patterdales , met many others that would not call them lakelands or fells , all this is immaterial to you p3d isn't it you just have to come on here to give us your knowledge , its about time you out grew it now , these lines of black red and choc terriers came from a mish mash of working types and breeds, since then they have been worked and breed line breed inbred until they have become a set type, i look forward to your next name droping lack of knowledge post
  9. Now there are very few I would gift a pup to but still would to those very few but if I ever had spare I'd sell them rather than trust strangers again
  10. Good luck with tbem Taz the gods must hate me mines empty
  11. how i look at it new lines breeds come about in the working sense because there isn't a type line strain breed that fills that purpose for example pig hunting dogs in Australia they cross nose with guts with stamina get the bull Arab and all the other lines which are better suited to the area they hunt , in Europe the terrier type was set and mainly in the Uk slight differences for areas, until about 50-60 years ago then the influence of the fell terrier came in to play and influenced most lines of workers not many russells in the uk without fell blood , the plummer with dashes of bull and be
  12. I had the honor of judging this show last year a job made easy by the amount of top class workers in attendance , i'll try and get to the show again this year a grand gang run it
  13. i've phoned a few lads rhos pen y cae, plasmadoc and cefn mawr heard nothing back get in contact with the northwales terrier club on facebook get it posted there ...good luck
  14. what ever or however you feed your terriers you don't want them as fit , slim cut as say greyhounds or pit dogs i like them fit at least a hour a day road work but to just have a covering of fat , i've had terriers loss a lot of weight after working this does not aid recovery just a covering of fat over a hard muscled body ( a bit like most of us aged terrier men lol ) i think keeps them fitter in the long term ..... and that was a interesting read King
  15. I remember a Jp quote , something like span a pub ash tray ( thing of the past i know lol ) you can't ,take it to most holes and it will fit or something like that, i judged a show last year the first for 15 years , i dreaded it but it was a favor, i was very lucky and a class load of workers turn up on the day could they be spanned , well not with my little hands, and i really enjoyed my day the span test has come in just for showing , there are better judges than us under ground ... small enough to get big enough to stay judging a show should be about picking a terrier you would like to
  16. i was very kindly sent a DVD of Phil Drabbles film about Bert Gripton , he was not anti terrierman or working terriers , he was anti those c**ts that have tried time and again to f**k it up for the rest of us lets not forget the video nasty filmed by people who got there hands on some working terriers
  17. i'm going to get myself a new breed this year , i like the GWP and the Vizla , my Brother has a GWP lovely dog but it not much of a worker way its been brought up, i' looking for something i can take beating, picking up ,ratting and to hunt up and mark foxes , which of the 2 breeds would be better ?
  18. i've bred from young terriers , a couple of times , because now and again you get some shit luck as in both cases lost at work and stolen as with all pups they then get tested , in the real world well in mine if i waited until every terrier i was to bred from had to be 6 or over , i wouldn't of kept the little family going , planning is all well and good but when your planned stud dies at 5 years 11 moths and 29 days where do you go because if his sire is still alive he's now over 12 , a couple of seasons work you know what you got
  19. he's one for you , i knew of a bitch did very little half heart-ed certainly not tested , bred back to her sire certainly tested and produced a above average % 4 out 5 top class workers, of those 2 were bitches both crackers both line bred the % of rubbish never increased , one was out-crossed as well again still held a high % of workers , so does blood shine or just pure luck ?
  20. think he was a very hard dog to take a line off i know a few who tried but failed , his blood worked well as a outcross to other lines from what i saw , i bred that black fox killer i posted about by breeding back to some smithy blood her and her brother where huge the dog was about 17inch and hard as iron he didn't last long the bitch 16inch was a fox killer and that's all , most of the lines died out or where bred out that i knew about in the -90's of coarse this is my limited experience ,
  21. She glyn full of beans nothings to hot for her matesorry mate thought you had the dog very nice
