  1. i'd give them at least 7 days before you go poking about in the nest - she might decide they look like a nice little snack 2 weeks would probably be best, when they start coming out of the nest to explore just feed her loads & let her get on with it. clean out her poo corner, but don't touch the nest.
  2. cross it with a russel.. you'll get some useful pups, if our suspected JR x KCS is anything to go by http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=24557
  3. unless it's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - they have longer, straigh noses & don't have such bulgy eyes. and they're bigger than 9" tall!
  4. my bro poked a squab out of its nest when when he was a kid... you could hear him scream from half a mile away! he kept chickens, and thought a baby pigeon would be all cute & fluffy like a chick we called it Walter, and hand reared him, he lived in our house for a year (we were half-way through having an extension built, we had no carpet down, so he lived in there). he sat on the back of a dining chair most of the time. if you go in the dining room & pull up the carpet, you can still see the shit stains on the concrete mum fed him on soaked weetabix & oats, he got covered in i
  5. Jasper - you're in norfolk. i'm in norfolk. now, we both know, one thing we have in abundance here is sodding muntjacs. heaving with the feckers. (can you tell i'm not keen on them? ) that first skull is definitely a muntjac. i would bet my mother on it. here's one from my garden, i just popped out to get some pics of it for you (and got covered in nettle rash into the bargain. how do those bloody things grow so quick?!?) note the ridges on the skull running abov the eye socket, and the second hole in front of the eye socket - that's the scent gland. dead giveaw
  6. welling up reading that a beautiful tribute to an obviously much-loved dog. r.i.p. Cass.
  7. my dad had a pet jackdaw when he was a kid, and taught it to talk. i have a couple of friends with pet jackdaws too. i've always fancied a pet magpie...could be handy for finding money...
  8. no worries i've not had cause to get further than the reception at the vets just before closing for a few months now, but i will make a special effort to pop in & try to catch the vet who jabbed me dog. wasn't my usual (brilliant) female vet fiona. i'll see what i can find out. JR x pointer? is she f*cking blind?
  9. if i need cheering up, i'll watch "Amelie". a film that can restore your faith in true love & happiness the Pirates of the Caribbean films are always good for comforting a cracking hangover. as is Withnail & I. oh, and "Singles" is one of my favourite films... cos Pearl Jam are in it for about 5 minutes
  10. oh. my. god. and he only got a disciplinary & a warning? c*nt should never be allowed near an animal again!!! and the dozy f*cking neighbour? christ, i hope i never wind up living next door to that twat!!!
  11. never in my life have i said anything about how many strains it covers.
  12. first one looks like a damaged muntjac skull. te second indentation under the eye socket is a dead giveaway. second one, dunno. not a pig. might be a roe deer. bloody hell... i was down the pub this afternoon, sat in my mates van, ID'ing his collection of skulls

    what cross?

i actually showed the pics to Ditch a while ago.. he said "OMG! What's that? Hancock creation? Collie Terrier?" i would go with spaniel cross, he's far too big to be a yorkie cross, and he has sort of floppy ears. little ears, with long hair on them, very spaniely.

    what cross?

isn't he? now he's getting on a bit & firing blanks, we're deeply regretting not keeping one of the "throwback" pups from him. in ever litter, we got a curly one, like him.... but we sold them all
  15. i live a few miles from the factory. i'll pop into the office next time i'm over that way, and get it straight from the horses mouth, so to speak.
  16. thank f**k i don't use Jeyes! i'd better tell my dad.. saying that; he's a horder. i don't think he's bought a new bottle of jeyes in the last 20 years!

    what cross?

this is Bo. my little brothers JR x. we've had him since he was 6 weeks old, bought at a horse sale from a dog breeding/dealing friend of the family, for 35 quid, back in '89. he was curly-coated when we got him (and still is!). Tony swore he was a pure JR. after a year, he said he was a JR x Yorkie, bought from travellers in lowestoft. i don't think so! so, what do you reckon is in him? he's almost certainly half JR, but the other half? everything from poodle to spaniel has been suggested... the pics are about ten or 12 years old. he's now 18 and still going strong, a tiny bit of grey sh

    honey bees

honey bees only sting as a last resort, as stinging means death for them. when they sting, their stinger is left behind, and the bee dies shortly after. they will only sting when provoked in some way. now, wasps? Hornets? their stingers don't come out. they can sting, and sting, and sting, with no harm to themselves. they're the feckers you need to watch out for!
  19. rainbow .. f*****g hell that willy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Badger Badger Badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger mushroom mushroom! SNAKE! SNAAAKE! i knew i'd seen that badger somewhere before... but rather less well-endowed!
  20. i'd second the chicken-breaking... my boy was aquired at 7 months old, from a town home, and had never seen 'stock in his life... breaking him to it has been nigh impossible. he got out on monday & killed one of my neighbours chickens . luckily they are very understanding. i spent all of monday afternoon ringing round my friends to find another hen for them, which was delivered with a grovelling apology on tuesday morning. but it has now thrown my housing situation into a crisis, as the place i was moving to has a chicken-keeping nextdoor neighbour, and he has a gun... and wouldn't think
  21. Digzy, to the best of my knowledge, is not an anti. i may be wrong, but it wouldn't be the first time
