  1. Laid flat, on a rack ideally. Grease on the cut ends. So my grandad said years ago anyway
  2. There are reasons people tend to stray from the barnetts though. The bands are heavy draw and not too snappy. The armrest you don't need but I suppose you could take it off, or buy the strike 9. The black widow isnt really pocketable. You can also get much better for a similar price. If none of this bothers you then as said, you can take game with it. You could have a scan on ebay for a multiplex or hdpe catty with flats or dankung tubes which will shoot faster and wont cost the earth. You would also have more options on how you hold the catty. Hope this helps. Atb
  3. Hold the tubes and draw as if it was on a catty to your anchor point, make adjustments to where you are holding the tube till you you're almost maxing out the tubes at your anchor, then cut to that length. One length wont work for everyone. Atb
  4. Nice! Can't call yourself Gamekeeper unless you don't give it to him for 3 month though
  5. Nice one. I f****d up a load of TBG last night using a blunt rotary blade too.
  6. Spot on chuck. I've thought about filling nuts with lead for extra weight. I bet they're devastating on quarry.
  7. 3 and half hours to make that beauty ffs. You're an inspiration Longers. Also I hate you
  8. Banded this up with 25mm singles and added a lanyard, after finishing with Briwax. It has a dull sheen, rather than being shiny and looks and feels ace close up. I had a mooch out, took a pocket full of hexnuts. I didn't manage a shot on anything living but I got rid of about 50 nuts shooting at random leaves and twigs. I like this catapult, I got pretty accurate with it quick but had a bit of a problem with band slap that i couldnt adjust for. I apologise for the pics, as you can tell I took them with a potato
  9. Aye, someone on here'll have a pic of a lurcher.
  10. I got one today too, pouch is a bit shit. It's like one a mine outta old leather couch. If I'd known then what I know now I wouldn't have bought it but whatever
  11. Made this out of a natural Oak fork this afternoon. Scalloped for the thumb, right or left hand hold. Feels great. It's just had a coat of danish oil and ill Briwax it tomorrow. I'm gonna put a lanyard on it and band it up with TBG. Took some sanding ill tell ya
  12. I love the look of Hennies. I like most gamefowl but know little to nowt about em. One day ill own a few.
  13. I'd prefer to use something stronger myself. M10 are big as catty ammo goes. Could give em a try though. If you made your own bands it would be much cheaper. Could have a metre of Theraband for about £7 and you can get some leather or pouches at a decent price. You'll get 5 or six sets from a metre. Even cheaper if you buy longer lengths. Just something to think about.
  14. Should have said, Im using 25mm singles for m/8 nuts and double 20mm for 11mm lead
  15. Double 20mm Theraband should chuck the nuts. M10 are pretty big though. You not need doubles for Aniseed balls though, at any distance lol.
  16. Brilliant, it was that big fcuker off Watership Down
