    If you don't mind me asking mate, how do you get done for your dogs killing a cat? I thought ferrals were legal to take? The only way I could think of it happening was if they could prove that you set them on someones cat? Not having a go or anything, just interested. PM if you'd prefer.     Here's the mine. Like I said, 3.9kg and I put a tape up to it as it is and it measures 2ft 8ins.

    I've got one on the wall here. It was my first one and weighed 3.9kg and streched out measures 2ft 8 inches. Luckily, my grandad is a taxidermist and kindly stuffed it this year I'll try to remember to get a pic up later

    Correct me if I'm wrong mate but I think it only increases the risk of cancer. From what I understand, if one or both don't drop, the body doesn't know what it/they are and starts attacking it/them. You should go and get some more advice from other people so that you know what you're working with mate. Like C Hall, his dog is 5 and hasn't had any problems. If you ask around and he is the only one that's had no problems with it then you know that the odds are stacked against you and vice versa but at least you know and are able to make a decision.     I have a good russell bitch. She has a good pace at working cover, fantasic nose and has a good voice. The only downside she has is going to ground but this is because she was introduced to it. She is soft and will come out after half an hour or so. I'm putting her in pup next year to keep one back and I'm trying to find a stud dog now so that I can see it work over the winter. I'm thinking of a cocker so that it reduces the urge to sink. I won't use another terrier because I think that there would be far too much chance that the pups would go to ground even if the sire was an out and out

I'll be trying for a litter out of her next year hopefully - just to keep one back. I have a feeling that the pups will be taken before they're born

    Just in case any of you know, I asked this on the terrier section; I followed the 'Show us your bushing dogs' thread and really liked the look of Brockdogs Beagle Russell dog. I'd also heard that it is a good worker too but I've searched for him on here and it says that he's been kicked off....? I'm considering putting my Russell type bitch (nearly 5) into pup to keep one back. I'm in no rush and it won't be done unless I find the right dog.
