  1. wow - you any good at hairdressing? sorry didn't mean to be rude. Apologies.
  2. My la chameaus are crap - the zip broke on both within weeks of buying them and they won't fix them, they are uncomfortable for proper walking, the leather is too hot every day of the year apart from when it is snowing in February, the colour looks a bit seasick, the top band that runs around the boot where you put your foot in has come off both sides. I prefer aigles having tried both.
  3. In that pic at the show the ghost is on the RIGHT Hand side - NOT THE fat Zombie with the blond hair and cammo coat.
  4. some will say that a lack of testosterone will drop his prey drive but its nothing to do with hormones its to do with whats in his head. otherwise no one would run a bitch, see if you can bond with the dog - if it trusts you - has the right frame and mind then its got potential. i didn't run my saluki x for over a year - they take time to mature so it might be she has done the hard bit for you and you won't have to worry about the insanity a sapling brings.
  5. also bear in mind that salukis are notorious for their f**k-you attitude just when you want to go home or are late for work and they decide that another hour or two would be good. you need to work out how to think like a saluki no matter how weird it gets! Best of luck with it - theres plenty your neck of the woods on here who i am sure would come have a look. some people get proper weird about their dogs being a "hunting breed" so it might be best not to mention the work.
  6. teeth - underbite, scissor bite etc, feet - cat or hare footed, pelvis or hips, movement,. length of loin. eyes - clear and not runny, looking wormy, too much muscle on the front and nothing on the back showing it pulls on a lead for its living and might have overstretched itself . can't remember if its a dog ot bitch but balls or when its season is due or has been. what its fed, what its coat is like - scury or shiny. is it timid is it a yapper. what's she trained it to do - any basic recall. Just to start with
  7. i reckon if you borrow her dog and it gets f****d up out lamping then you are never getting your nuts wet. i think you can see if it gets on with your dog but i wouldn't run it unless it is yours. just my opinion, oh and this thread is worthless without pics. The 2nd opinion is useful coz do you know the questions to ask and the things to look for?
  8. bit late to ask now - just hope youhaven't lined some puppy farming b*****ds pocket. regardless of what you think it looks like a lovely pup but why did you not do any research?
  9. have you got the time and money to bring it on and give it a cracking home? Is so get hold of someone local who knows their onions and go have a look. never get a dog on a whim - its going tobe with you for 10 years plus with some luck. I had a saluki collie rescue once and she was one of the best dogs i have ever had - it took a lot of time to bring her together but boy was it worth it. oh and yeah she wants a good f**k - she couldn't be more obvious. maybe if you do it well enough you get the dog for free?
  10. get a second opinion if you not sure but it sounds on paper like an excellent offer.
  11. The reward for the retrieve is to allow it to hunt. You got to make the dog retrieve and only then allow it to hunt again. So no more lamping until it is 100% on the retrieve.
  12. I got caught in a white out up on the dales once. It couldn't see 20 yards and so I started retracing my footprints in the snow but it was snowing that hard they were covered in no time. Luckily Michael Burke turned up and made a bad television programme about it.
  13. Well done - good work - I expect the dog owners were happy - the filth are never happy so balls to them.
  14. For what it is worth your man in Northumberland is the correct choice. Not sure how much Cat A blood NV runs - certainly when i have been out with them there's mostly pbgv cross blood;
  15. How the f**k are we meant to know? You're the scotsman.
  16. Bridport nets. hem. They are great - been using them for years.
  17. yeah i know - farmers are good at having a whinge. The sheep round my way are massive breed average for cotswolds are around 150kg for a ram. Brown hare average weight: 3kg. So I might have been exagerating a bit but you get my point.
  18. Kenny - that stat about how much they eat used to get bandied around the beagling comunity. I call bullshIt. 1 sheep weighs a tonne more than 3 hares. Hares refect, sheep dont, compared to how much crop is lost to disease, other pests, poor farming etc - the hares have a neglible effect on crops in most areas. Even in forestry if the trees are properly sleeved then they are not to blame.
  19. Feed meat and some veg, good oils and fish. a bit of warmth in the belly is good for a dog - same as you or me - imagine a life of eating cream crackers - sod that!
  20. i have a bitch out of khan & maude, 2008 litter. Phenomenal dog on what she is designed for - if only she was a preban girl!
  21. Wow - excellent lineage. Wish i had the money and kennel space. They should be top drawer.
  22. I genuinely hope you get this sorted without losing your dogs and any more sleep. Feel properly sorry for you - I would take up all the support you can get. ATB
