  1. Gone missing from a kitchen overnight near Cirencester. Both broken flint coloured standing about 23 inches. One of the pair has undergone extensive surgery in the past and has been pinned and plated and CAN NOT work. If anyone see's or hears anything let me know please.
  2. slightly different genetics - the gwp has korthals blood which gives a different result. THere are 2 excellent books about their origins - one by sharon pinkerton on the GWP and another about the gsp. both called "the XXXX today". be worth having a read.
  3. The GSP is not just a short haired version of the GWP - they are similar but different breeds that need a different approach. Neither are breeds for novice dog trainers if you want to get the best out of them and they vary a lot in temperament and working style. They are very very slow to mature and can be incredibly headstrong. On the positive side - when well trained they are excellent. I have trained springers to a high standard and had to chuck the book away when i got into GWP's they take a certain way of handling that will blow your mind if you are used to a springer or leave you sobbing
  4. I think your right. Another thing that annoyed me was the sticky up rear head rest lever thing - it was always in the field of vision in the rear view mirror.
  5. I had one as a work car with all the gadgets in it - i drove it 75 miles a day commute plus another 50 miles a day on average for work and completely killed the car in a year. The electrics kept packing up - apparently between the stalk and the rear indicators are 4 junction boxes - i would indicate left and the radio would come on - the lights turn off etc. At 80k it went into run slow mode when i was tanking down the motorway - 35 mph on the outside lane of the M6 isn't much fun with no power to get out the way. The plastic tray bolted (plastic bolts) to the underside of the car below the e
  6. "looking forward in seeing the girl go down" I think ferretting might have changed from how you remember it!
  7. Wolf Creek. more f@cked up than scary but pretty harrowing all the same (to my innocent fragile mind anyhow)
  8. Wouldn't have thought he will hang about long if that was his welcoming committee! Sounds like a good run though!
  9. Yes - seen quite a few lynx (I work for a safari company!) - they might take out the odd fawn but you would need a huge population to control deer numbers and that isn't practical.
  10. A lynx has no chance of controlling a red deer herd. They are not much bigger than a tabby. At least they were trying to be objective about it last night - bet the stalker was over the moon when that woman rocked up wearing a white puffa jacket and white bobble hat.
  11. I loved my Fourtrak but it suffered with a couple of things - the biggest problem was that it was just a bit too small for all the kit. Lack of weight in the back end sometimes meant you could'nt get the power down like you can in a lwb or heavier truck. Oh and thirsty as hell on road
  12. do all landrovers come with a free "one life , life it" sticker nowadays? Truck looks the business
  13. I disagree with you, if a dog is worth having then distance is no object in my book. If it's not worth having then don't bother at all. I have nothing to do with this sale.
  14. 6 and half hours to much for a dog that could be with you for 12 years, You are a Twunt and don't deserve a pup anyhow.
  15. the clue is in the names: Labrador retriever - brings stuff back. Springer spaniel - springs game.
  16. They are ace at clearing slugs from my veg patch - I think they are brilliant.
  17. Thats a great way to peddle stolen dogs.
  18. I always run mine in collars - once had a charlie stick a fang through a leather collar and so i think it is worthwhile for their protection. Never had a dog caught up on them and the right size won't hamper their breathing or turning.
  19. I was getting £4.50 for a whole pheasant - oven ready and £5 a duck - again oven ready. We sold out every week. There is demand but its got to be presented right and packaged right. When you pay £1 a brace direct from shoots you need to add the value otherwise that's the price its going to stay. I say go figure because it seems expensive to me but then people paid it with no quibble. When you look in Waitrose and they are selling 2 pheasant breasts for £7 its bloody good value to buy a whole bird for less than a fiver. It is all about the economie3s of scale which is why there are only 5 larg
  20. Well i have some fact to back this up rather than speculation if it helps? I sold out of rabbits on my farmers market stall every week within an hour - regardless of how many I took along. The price - £4:50 each.. Go figure.
  21. join the stalking directory forum and post it there. Are you on the GWP club database coz you can advertise on there too. Mine tracks and points deer very nicely. how about the BDS forums? Out of interest what blood lines have you bred?
  22. I watched them call hounds across a railway line whilst they were fiming it a few years ago - they are scum
  23. 99% of camo is a load of crap and is worn by knuckle dragging inbreds who think it makes them look tough. Animals don't see in the same spectrum of light as us and react more to movement than colours. For example red deer can not detect fluorescent pink or orange but if you wear a full on ghillie suit that you've washed with biological washing powder then you are going to glow bright blue to the deer. I have been pigeon shooting in a high viz jacket to prove the point and the birds didn't jink. Like i said it is a load of balls unless you want to play at being soldiers. Another top tip -
