  1. Interesting post Ken,wonder what the muscle loss would have been in a younger dog.I know shes not old but she cerainly wont be producing growth hormones now,you know yourself when youre younger you can skip the gym to go on hols etc and lose no size,Im 47 now and gain size quickly when training,if I missed a week now muscle mass shrinks rapidly due to not producing growth hormones anymore, however the lost mass is regained very quickly, muscle memory perhaps??? Applying the same logic Tilly should gain the 2kg back faster than you think(all being well with her injury) Either way glad shes doing
  2. Friend of ours paid £800 for a cockerpoo!,seems reasonable enough to me...
  3. Some going that mate...how many traps are you running? I dont like to brag ,but I had 3 this morning lol atb Dave
  4. Hope I'm not crossing a line Kay,but your son is better off without the spineless b*****d,the fact your son doesn't want you reading the letter shows how much he cares for you.Im sure he will be all the better father for seeing how not to do it...atb Dave
  5. We didn't have kids, married too young and realised we grew apart, but neither of us wanted to admit it...Cant for the life of me understand adults using kids as weapons,a friend of the wife used to send hateful messages via the kids when he had access and he returned nasty shit back through the same channels....needless to say, both kids went of the rails eventually.
  6. Same as BB,my ex turned up with papers, irreconsilable differences,I think.Decree Nisi came through weeks later ,think it was 12 months till the decree absolute came through. We didnt use solicitors, this was about 20 yrs ago and were still friends to this day, cant be doing with animosity/bitterness I seensome of my mates go through, they must have liked the person they married at some point....suppose it depends why the marriage broke down....Try and keep it civil Malt atb Dave
  7. Its suprising where you can ferret wearing hi viz,no one interested in workmen.....
  8. Is there anywhere you can walk him where theres no game ,so the his only focal point is you?Plenty of recalls ,rewarded with treats, drum it into him.
  9. Airgun section appears to have a thriving community....
  10. You might wanna to spell check your last sentence mate lol
  11. Remember that from years ago Ray,rage syndrome, wonder wether they bred it out yet,was prevalent in the 80s.....
  12. Putting some gear infront of them dogs Davie, keep at em .
  13. Have seen tiny ferrets used a few times...definetly not for me.....Now we can go round in circles discussing small, medium and large lol...While were at it,has anybody ever had a correctly fed ferret kill, eats its fill then curl up and go to sleep??? atb Dave
  14. Glad your old fellas ok :thumbs:people were moaning last week about lamping threads being samey and boring lol Beat that....well done mate, you saved the fellas life by the sound of it...
  15. Most of our permissions we have to clear handfuls of brash etc to get a net on plus snapping many branches etc imo it makes no difference making a noise on top of a warren. We bolted rabbits as the Cheshire Hunt rode past us,including a couple of quads up front, many times on one of our bigger farms the owner rides over to us on his quad or his L200 and stands and chats with us whilst the engine is running literally within a couple of feet from bolting bunnies.....Heard all the different stories, wont bolt in wind, wont bolt in heavy rain and neither stand up to scrutiny,I smoke and natter sometim
  16. Was trying to be tactful Cam,didnt want to start rumours about your hob and its STD lol.....
  17. The hob that northern lad or his friend used? Wish mine would learn to stand up to him, he's a real softie as well for such a big lad. I caught him pinning one of the Jill's down earlier and grabbed him by the scruff and pinned him down and you should have heard him squeel Would have thought I was murdering him. It could be hes trying to mate them, one of my hobs is in already, have his balls dropped?Without being impolite lol...
  18. My castrated hob has sired two litters, one a few month before ha was done,he has no interest whatsoever in the jills when in season....not suggesting theyre all like that ,but this one is...
  19. Be careful who you sell to mate, mind it doesnt end up on preloved come the end of the season ,atb Dave
  20. If you want them together all year round Michaela get him castrated,no bothereing the jills at all,and no phantom pregnancies.Couldnt decide myself when I got him done wether to snip or castrate and I'm glad I had him castrated. He still works exactly the same,he was never a problem to handle and was the same afterwards.Regarding bringing jills out of season I know a lot on here like a vac,d hob,I tried it on two of my jills a few years ago,one died a few weeks after the mating, the other was an absolute pain in the arse for months dragging any ferret back into her "nest" she lost condition and
  21. I think Phil Lloyd used him over one of his bitches a few years back,if memory serves me right.
  22. We have definitely turned a corner me and little cloud ... we've got a real good bond and she is starting to settle into her work nicely ... don't get me wrong she still has plenty of annoying quirks to wind me up with on a daily basis but bit by bit we are sorting them lol ........... Annoying quirks....don't get me started....my 7 mnth bed/whip /grey is breaking me lol Had dogs pretty much all my life bulldogs, terriers, staffs etc, this ones in a league of his own,by far the most stubborn, difficult to train dog Ive ever owned.....His attention span is seconds, his memory is shorter ,what he lea
